I read a book "Ending days of Mughals" written by a historian Dr Mubarak.
After reading the book I was surprised that their are too many similarities between our rulers and Mughals emperors between 1787 to 1857.
1- There were too much taxes imposed on Indians and rulers did not pay any tax.
2- Citizens were dying with hunger but rulers were spending and wasting the wealth.
3- Citizens had a very simple life whereas rulers were enjoying a luxurious life.
4- Rulers were proud of their dresses and palaces.
5- Citizens were working very hard and rulers were spending their time with .......
6- West was spending on universities and Indian rulers were spending on their dresses, dishes, functions and .............. Kitchens of these palaces were like laboratories and specialist chefs were employed to create new dishes.
7- There was no justice and you can say "jis ki lathi us ki bhains" because of injustice all wealthy people had their own army for their defence and attack on others.
8- Because wealth was not safe so wealthy people starting hiding or spending on luxuries as much as possible instead of investing in new businesses. Because of it now wealth was only in the hands of a few wealthy people.
After reading this book I was surprised and thought that East India Co could not occupy our country if we had a good leader that time.
Today again we need a good leader who should be different than our current rulers. I do not have control on my thoughts but I do not want to say further.
