NEW YORK (Reuters) - Oil prices plunged more than 6 percent to the lowest level in more than a year on Monday, pulling back sharply late in the session as fears of an economic slowdown rattled the market.

U.S. crude futures CLc1 settled at $42.53 a barrel, down $3.06, or 6.7 percent. Brent crude futures settled down $3.35, or 6.2 percent, at $50.47 a barrel. The market settled early ahead of the Christmas holiday. Prices extended losses in post-settlement trade.

However financial extortion of Pakistani consumers still continues unabated. PTI is becoming unpopular day by day and they must wake up and stop being greedy. Practice what you use to preach to use when you were in opposition.

Last month Asad Umar fooled us all by decreasing only 2 rupees which was a joke considering crude price is going down for months. This ponzi-scheme is no different than what Ishaq Dollar use to pull on us.

Asad umar is a different man than Ishaq Dar....>ishaq dar would have reduced prices by 10 to 15 rupees but asad umar is keeping prices same. Ishaq dar reduced the price of dollar from 108 to 98.....while this joker asad umar increased it from 124 to 139. WHen in opposition these same people scream outloud why government doesnt pass on price decrease to people....now in government they are silent donkeys.......he is actually just sqeezing the population for every rupee.

The Debt hole these looters have left the country in ,will take time to fill Bro.

Debt hole has nothing to do with this. This is passing benefit to public instead of keep looting them like Ishaq Dollar.

Also cost of electricity actually went up even when fuel prices are down and cost of producing electricity form furnace oil is down as well.

But higher fuel prices will hurt Pakistan's economy even further. As far sacrificing, we have been doing that for last 10 years with no relief in sight any time soon.

There is no extradition treaty between Pakistan and UK. Perhaps PTI government should sign that treaty first. Then have Pakistani courts order his extradition. UK will not have any choice but to send him back after a small procedure in British courts.

But mark my words, Pakistan will never sign extradition treaty with UK. Because it's reciprocal and British will be equally eligible to ask extradition of people from Pakistan.

Current prices don't reflect immediately so this drop in price today won't be able to pass on by Feb so nothing can be offered before that.

Also with 1.1 tr circular debt passed on from previous govt, it leaves very little room to give any big discounts to the masses. It is possible prices may go down but don't think it will be more than 2-3 rupees again when revised for next month.

Sounds like same BS story that Ishaq Dar use to feed us.

First of all this is not the only decline in price. Crude prices have been declining since October so even as per your logic they failed to pass it on to consumer.

Secondly, all internal debt has been taken over by China already. They need to stop lying and tell the truth.

3rdly, there has been zero effort to stop electricity theft.

After all it's easier to bark when you are in opposition. Much harder to act when reins are in your hand.
