Actually, PPP were willing to remove it - nawaz said no because it was a law bought by Gen Zia, and nawaz couldn't go against that in case it upset Zia's son. A number of people have told this incident recently.

Well, if they want to improve the law to make it speicific to corruption , money laundering, lying, etc....then it may be better. But point is, PMLN didn't think to do it....
