OKARA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan has said that the trial of former president Pervez Musharraf was the voice of the whole nation but the present government was too weak even to conduct his trial impartially.
Talking to a party delegation headed by Okara Chief Haji Inam-ur-Rehman who had called on him here on Wednesday, Khan said it would be a tough task for the Judiciary because the whole nation had pinned high hopes on it.
He said Pervez Musharraf was the only man who dashed people aspirations for personal interests and damaged the country and such person should be brought to book, so that no one could dare to play with the destiny of the country.
According to Imran Khan, there has been a tradition that the role of politicians are being criticized and laws were made for their accountability, he said and added that no dictator was brought to justice yet who worked against the country interests for lust of power.
He said the time has come to make the image of independent judiciary by bringing the dictator to book so that could increase common man trust in courts and create sense of security among them.
Criticizing the government for not bringing Musharraf to book, PTI Chief pointed out that the government was too weak to conduct his trial because they have come into power under NRO.
