Re: Mir Shakeel ur Rehamn paid 80 Crore Rs to Differenet Bollywood Actors and Actresses for attending his daughter's wedding in dubai
Pakistani law or any other law in the world does not restrict anyone from inviting anyone to a personnel event they have organized. Everyone has right to invite anyone they like to their personnel events and spend as much money as they want, especially on their family. The same applies to Mir Shakeel who invited Indian superstar Shahrukh Khan to his daughter’s wedding. This is no one business and no one should be bothered.
As we know Mir Shakeel is not an ordinary man, he is heading one of the oldest and largest media houses of Pakistan. Being in such a position one has connections all over the world most of whom are rich and famous, and powerful. So it is no surprise that when Mir Shakeel organizes an event as important as his daughter’s wedding he will invite people he knows.
There is no restriction on how much a parent spends on their family, especially children. A man of Mir Shakeel’s stature whose father set up Pakistan’s greatest media empire would naturally plan a great wedding for his daughter. No one has a right to question this or criticize. The money was Mir Shakeel’s and he is allowed to spend it on anything he wants – no one has the right to interfere.
In our culture, attending someone’s daughter’s wedding is a considered to be a customary imperative and polite – people may not attend a son’s wedding but a daughter’s wedding is a must attend. Therefore, when Mir Shakeel invited people to his daughter’s wedding, they attended out of regard.
Of course, considering Mir Shakeel’s stature, his guest list would include a large number of the rich and famous from all over the country, even India. As far as we know this is not a crime.
Second, as the Jang Group has developed a peace initiative with India’s largest media house The Times of India titled Aman ki Asha, people attending this event had probably thought it is a good gesture for peace.
The allegation that Mir Shakeel spent 80 crore rupees to invite Shahrukh Khan is just mere speculation. No one has proof that he paid 80 crores to get Shahrukh Khan to attend the marriage.
Indians of such high status attending the wedding of a Pakistani is only an indication that people in India will also do anything to try and improve relations between the two countries. And attending the wedding of a VVIP of Pakistan is a good move to make good headlines for the Indians as well.
Then coming to the criticism of how much Mir Shakeel spent on his daughter’s wedding – there is only one thing to say to this it is no one business to know his personnel matters regarding how much he spends on his family. Basically, no one has a right to interfere.
Even Mir Shakeel’s worst critic Mubasher Lucman was forced to admit in his show on ARY (Dec 25, 2013) that he had no proof of the amount Mir Shakeel spent on his daughter’s wedding. Lucman also agreed that no one could stop anyone from spending as much they do of their own money as they pleased, especially on their family. And it is a fact that no one has the right to tell anyone – rich or poor – on how to spend their own money. This is a personnel choice.
Basing arguments on flimsy words spouted on the media on a show is a dangerous trend; such acts should be stopped and a regulation must be formed and enforced so that people cannot use the media to spread false things about anyone and create a needless furor. Whether we like it or not, there are still some limits in life that have to be observed.
