Re: Abbas town incident reality check...
@Ranajunaid, Just one correction, please. How many blasts were there in the area on that day? Two.
I happen to know a thing or two about the Rabia Flower project. My family had two flats in the project when it was built, which were later sold. My family knows many residents of those flats. Even though the flats were not built to cater for any community, everyone was welcomed to book the flats in the scheme. But as it happened, gradually through later sales, great numbers of flats were occupied by followers of Agha Khan. There were many "Shias" because of its proximity to Abbas Town, but there was a sizeable Sunni population too. It was a mixed population, living happily without any problems or communal tensions.
According to the information given to me, the first blast was in or around Abbas Town and the second one after a delay took place in between the two schemes. The Rabia Flower's promenade suffered the most damage in the second blast. The pictures you see of the blown up flats and shops is from Rabia Flower.
A majority of shopkeepers were Sunnis, mostly the Sunni butchers have lost their lives in the second blast. For obvious reasons, the force was greater on the ground floor where shops were located.
We shouldn't worry about Sunni or Shia, they were all Pakistanis. We should ignore our corrupt Media, they have absolutely no professionalism. I have been trying to hammer home this message for almost 5 years. When I listen to or read the articles of best of them, I just laugh. Most of Pakistan's problems are because of these corrupt thugs.
