Well, in a civilized first world country, your idea holds value. But in Pakistan if we follow this, you will destroy the social fabric of this society. We have already created enough classes in education system. It will create tons of new social issues.

As far Beaconhouse, and many others like them, they are freaking real culprits who are destroying our education system for money. I have ZERO love for these useless education factories.

Even country like US has elements of socialism and communism in its education system. We need equality more than anything else in Pakistan. Doesn't matter how we get it. I am all for it.

My friend, equality is a lie, even our 5 fingers are not equal. Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said "Humans are like elements, they realise their potential when Islam enters their heart" e.g. Omar, Khalid Raziallah.Anhum etc.

All system rot after 10 years, bcz the world moves on. If we put one system in place then this entire thing will become a bureaucratic nightmare to change. Where the law will prevent any external betterment. The rich will start sending their kids abroad day 1, rather then for bachelors and masters. We need to incentivise them. Look at LUMS in Lahore it's a private venture funded through industrialists who want their children to be in Pakistan. You can see the results for yourself. While Punjab University has degraded to a level that I feel unhappy defining what quality it represents.

Well, sad to hear how you define equality. Perhaps then we should just accept that we live in a jungle and there will never be a fair chance or opportunity for any of us.

BTW, may be you are but I am not impressed with LUMS at all. And as far those with degrees from abroad, have been a disgrace to this country so far.

Last five years alone enough to prove that this private school, private universities and foreign degree mafia is no good for our country or for the national interest of the people of this country.

I agree with the second part of your argument. Ata-ur-Rehman was the guy responsible for introducing the useless PhD concept and nobody questioned his failures. Now he will repeat it with PTI for another decade.

For LUMS at-least it's there better than nothing. While the bureaucrats continued abusing Pakistan and didn't push the politicians to build any good university.
