fair enough!
I don't know about how brave I'm but when I give up on something I don't look back, NEVER............
I just also want to mentionthe thing you said about 'family gate', remember what you said, that the damage is already done, at that time I didn't quite understand the depth of it (remember how I said there is no allegation against cj, so we will be fine), but now since last couple of days I think I fully agree that the damage is already done. They only had to scandalise him even if it was not his fault.

LOL

No, I am not running away :-)

Its just that I have little patience for BS and idiocy and even though I can dish it back in kind and I have but then I think that I am better than this.

I will be selective on participation but not giving up. I love following this too much to completely give it up.

I can tell that you are definitely braver than me. Truth needs to be told - more now than ever before! Hope you will keep up the good work.

Where we should be smart we are not and in creepy scheming no one is smarter than us. People worked on this hard and found CJ's weakness and exploited it. I think it shows his failing as a father but you see we are an emotional and cynical bunch - It will not be easy to erase the perception of like father like son.

I don't think that CJ will be able to claim moral high ground after this scandal with the people of Pakistan. Its just the way our makeup is....

The damage is already done - does show where CJ failed specially after what Musharraf had thrown at him 4-5 years ago. If I was in his place I would have send that idiot of a son to siberia to prevent that idiot to come back and bite the whole country in the @$$ in this way!

I would blame the CJ if Arsalan was a teenager on his early 20s. Dude, Arsalan is my age (33, isn't he?) and I dont expect any father to be parenting at this age! What Arsalan does at this point is SOLELY his responsibility and his father cannot and should not be blamed for it. Although, I do agree with you that the way Pakistanis work they will end up losing respect for CJP.

We are now going to hear on talk shows people like Faisal Raza Abidi etc always rub Arsalan's case into our faces in defence of their demi-gods...

Thats a very good approach....

Technically you are right but after all we are talking about Pakistan. I read somewhere that the CJ had asked his son to move out until this issue is going on. What does that tell you - he is not an independent person who is on his own. In Pakistan the concept that someone who has a family and a source of income is never considered completely independent. Guilt by association is the norm in Pakistan. Who do you think the Police pick up when they are looking for a 33 year old suspect - you guessed it right, they pick up the father and the sibblings and the cousins and cousins' neighbors :-) CJ may not be culpable for his son's actions but after all his son was the subject of a reference against him 4-5 years ago. I would have been very very careful and if the son was out of his control and completely independent then he should have taken steps to avoid a situation like this.

It would be interesting to know what did the CJ do after Aitzaz informed him of the brewing conspiracy and the charges against his son.

Yes, that is a very valid question that one should ask CJ, seems like he has to clarify lots of things.

I have not been able to follow the case very closely for the last couple of days but saw the snippets of the show by Mehar Bukhari and Lucman. I think it will be almost impossible for CJ to continue in these circumstances. I am sure that the people who came up with this scheme must have thought about all the scenarios and have things and people ready to go. I can't imagine MR doing this without solid guarantees and backup plans. The way he went all guns blazing it was pretty clear that he had assurances that when its all said and done he will come out okay - and for him okay means more power to him and more ways to make money. As it is I am sure that most of his wealth must be stashed away overseas. Crooks like him never expose themselves like this - they always have a backup plan and for them it doesn't matter to stoop this low as they have no sharam or ghairat or reputation that they have to protect.

And, just because these questions are being raised will diminish the image of the CJ in people's eyes

well I'm getting the same feeling, although I think CJ would have to stay away from MR cases but I'm not sure about him leaving (the only problem nw coming up is his meetings with cj, that might create controversies).
Now this will be a test for IK and PTI too,
I still think unless a proof comes against CJ himself, he would not have to leave. But at the moment PPP guys on social media are propagating for CJ to leave.

Thats exactly what the motive was. You know that even on this forum there were NO PPP supporters but all of a sudden they have popped up and have been very active for the last month or so.

Mark my words - CJ will not be able to survive this in the long run - this is a lot worse than the reference sent by Musharraf. Standing up to a military dictator was easier. People like MR have nothing to lose when it comes to character and reputation and whoever has put him up to this have assured him business as usual or even more or guaranteed him that he will get away with his crimes as did NRO beneficiaries.

I think that PTI is not taking a tough stance since they are somehow bitten by it too. Look at the way they employed that hack Lucman to inspire and recruit the youth - I mean can you believe the stupidity of it all? Now you can see where he stands......situations like these would make people think twice about PTI.

People are talking about personality of CJ and that if he goes then things will be back to old ways - this is what we get for not strengthening our institutions and destroying the mechanisms to implement accountability.

Even for a pessimist like this the current situation seems pretty bleak.

Lets just get ready for the corrupt tola to rule Pakistan for 5 more years :-(
