[h=1]Nandipur Power Project fails to generate required production[/h]The Rs 84 billion Nandipur Power Project has failed to produce the sanctioned quantity of power. The Project has become an expensive-power-supply project.
The administration of Nandipur Power Project had claimed that 425 megawatt would be added to the national power grid from April but sources said that despite the announced date being passed for over three months the power plant has not yet become functional and presently a mere 150 megawatt power is being produced from diesel instead of gas.
According to sources technical faults is the single biggest bottleneck in the completion of the project and that conversion could not be done in this project so far due to which its turbines could not be converted to gas and some of its power plants remain close still.
Sources also informed that the authorities of the project failed to get the tariff rates they liked from the NEPRA. The initial investment on the project was worked out at Rs 23 billion which spiraled to Rs 84 billion ultimately.

The production was going on since months now, you could see miles long queue of oil tankers around the nandi pur bridge, in Daska road. People around that area are well aware of this.

That maybe of that 95 MW which was inaugurated back in May 2014. Share any news about inauguration/starting of the rest of the turbines if you have.

an officer of mine is from daska, his relatives are working in that power plant, he had told me before about the production there.

Neuclear = 2,34
LNG based = 4,75
Coal based = 5,80 + transportation 0,30
Solar = 11,50
Wind = 12,00

But Nandipur will cost us 35,11 rupee per unit due to missmanagement.
It was firstly planned to use furnace oil but to get the inaguration with the prime minister going they used Diesel instead of furnace oil as furnace was not available on the day. Then it costed 21 billion extra to repair the damage + they used 19 billion to convert it to LNG. Total cost of Nandipur is about 118 billion rupees as it stands.

And the professionals say, even the unit prices from Quaid-e-Azam Solar installation are double as high as mentioned because it won't produce 1000MW as they announce.

The biggest question is, if China is going to invest in 15000 MW electrity production why only 1500 (1/10th) of it is Hydelpower. Why didn't we ask them to invest at least half in hydel projects. Even investment in Hydel projects is cheeper. While Nandipur's 445 MW cost us 800 million USD, the proposed two hydel projects with total capacity of 1500 would cost us only 1,5 billion USD, that's one million USD per MW only. The reason must be that from coal and LNG, they can earn running comission while there is no comission on water.
