This is irresponsible journalism. The media is popularizing the stupidity of 150 people while there are millions who condemn this act. If people expect uniformity in thought and behavior, they have a lot to learn about history and social sciences. Muslims are not monolithic. Even siblings and best friends disagree from time to time and sometimes become each others' worst enemies.
For every national tragedy, concerning any group, there are going to be apologists and supporters. It depends on the media and how they want to cover the story. Whether they want to create divisive & hateful attitude by highlighting the rare apologist tales (while dismissing the overwhelming critics) or do they want to discuss the context and mention such stories as a part of that discourse. Since 'shock & awe', sensationalism, and profit-driven journalism have become the norm, the former is more likely. But this shouldn't stop the readers to do their own research, self-educate, and decode media propaganda.
On a side note, I am suspecting there are US paid propagandists on this forum (some obvious like Centcom, others anonymous).
