IS this the Best Drama serial of our time? Takes me back to the 70's ...Pyare Afzal

Its such unrealistic drama. If you watch other dramas written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, you wouldn't see the difference. He is just repeating himself from day one (Boota From Toba Take Sing, Chandpur ka Chandu, Landa Bazar, Main mar gai shokat Ali, Bunty I love you, etc). The whole emphasis is on dialogue and trying hard to give an extreme the situations. If you watch 2/3 episodes in row you will realize this.

One of the poster in above post mentioned Umera Ahmed. I agree with him. Umera is currently best writer as she always convey the message in her dramas. Kankar, Lahasil, Dur-e-shahwar, Muahabt Subah ka sitara hai, etc are best dramas. I would also rate Rihai as it also empower woman. If you look at "kisay apna kahein" and Maha malik's "meray mehrban" these are also great.

If you ask me, if there is no message, no lesson, then its useless entertainment.

Andhaira Ujaala,, Tanhaiyaan, specially waris & Jangloos were amazing drama serials

These drama serials take us to OUR TIMES................with special feelings and glimpses of lost moments with family members and friends............lost somewhere in the journey of life..............

I will not call it totally unrealistic Drama, most of the characters seem like everyday people we meet in the street.
The actors have given such credence to their roles that I have a feeling Firdous jamal might be remembered as "Molvi SubhanAllah" from now on. Same goes for Afzal.
I dont recall seeing young ladies making "nafal" namaz to get things done, this is so much like how we grew up.
For me the best thing so far has been the fact that you cannot guess what will exactly happen next and the most powerful scene was when Afzal's sister took the letters and went to the girl's house.

Turkish dramas might be in but they are too unrealistic and just spiced up to sell just like Indian serials....some of the new pakistani dramas are like that as well...but we still get some good ones once in a while...
