Brother your analysis is not correct. Japanese population is 3 times smaller then US and per unit cost of construction is much higher then US but still Internet is much much cheaper in Japan as compare to USA. One of the reason is that Japanese population is concentrated in few area while US is sparsely populated. In UAE its same population is concentrated in few areas and labor cost is much cheaper but still the prices are higher. Only reason is Monolply and looting

UAE Internet prices are very high compared to the US. However that is an unfair comparison. Over 50 percent of the world internet traffic passes through the US. Their population and infrastructure is a lot more larger than UAE's. The UAE hardly has 10 million people. The US has over 300 million. Pakistan over 200 Million. The UAE is a very small market and therefore the smaller the market the higher the prices of such commodities. Pakistan's cheap internet prices are cheap because they false advertise and frequently over sell.

Dude, i live in US and effectively pay 45% of my income in some form of taxes. I will swap that deal any day with you; pay $400 for internet and not have to pay Fed/state taxes :)

Here in the UK it is 28 (for fist 6 months and then 48/mo) for line rent plus 60MBPS fiber internet connection for home + unlimited uk landlince calls + premium TV channels with HD box. Not sure about business plans.

Japan's cheap internet prices are well known in the US. And the reason for this is that the internet is subsidized by the Government of Japan. There is also the fact that Japan likes to invest long term. Japan was building expensive fiber networks in the early 2000s, because the companies justified that this is expensive but will help in the long term. This is how Japanese think. In contrast, in the US when AT&T spend millions of dollars for its 1.1 million subscriber fiber network, it was under intense pressure from investors to justify why it spent so much money on this venture?

There is never an "ONLY" reason for any problem. Its always a compound reason.
