Every time an Indian on this forum brings the stats from Pakistan when faced with the figures and facts from world organisations on the poverty levels in India or filth on its streets. Indian quickly drag Pakistan in to it, its poverty levels and even sanitation conditions in Pakistan.
I have been to many parts of Pakistan, but I have never seen kind of filth we see in videos in India. I confess I personally had never been to India, but my brothers and sister had been. They have told me first hand accounts of how dirty is India compared to Pakistan. First time one of my brother went to India, he came back and laughed at the faces of those who were trying to elevate India to the level of among the richest in the world. In India because of exploitation the figures are skewed to a very high degree. Few very rich billionaire, a middle class to speak of, but even then there are grades and degrees of economic powers. For example most middle classes in India cannot afford to buy a house in their own cities, which is not the case in Pakistan.
Anyway, the fact is no Pakistani deny that there is poverty in Pakistan and it is on the increase due to our incompetent and corrupt political leaders. We hate our politicians for valid reasons and to show our disgust we criticise them all the time on this forum. Indians witness that criticism first hand on this forum.
My attempt is not geared up towards closing the eyes from the problems faced by Pakistan. Far from it, we all wish Pakistan becomes prosper and poor people have better lives.
All I want to do is to draw the attention to the fact that there may be poor in both countries but the level of poverty is different in both countries. it is as stark as one can imagine.
Indians are very proud of Mumbai, which they think is heaven on Earth. When my brother visited the city he told me it is so dirty and filthy that he used to throw up on the street because of the stanch which is spread all over Mumbai.
Just two vivid examples from two biggest cities in both countries.
This video is from just one street of Mumbai, but we know that 3/4 of the city of Mumbai is filled with such dirty slums.
In comparison, due to some propaganda in the Indian media to portray Orangi the biggest slum area in Asia, the Indians think Orangi town is very poor and dirty.
Yeah true, it consist of poor of Karachi, and yes it could term as dirty in comparison to the First World. But for Indians to use it as an example. Come on give me a break.
It is obvious from this video, there is poverty and then there is inhuman conditions like we see in most Indian big cities. I am comparing the two for the sake, but story is no different in other cities.
If the deluded Indians think that Orangi is a slum at par with their cities slums then they need their heads examined. If we term Orangi as slum then the Indians have to accept that most of their cities are slums without exceptions.
Take an example of city of Chennai. Look at its normal streets, which are not classified as slums by the Indians.
Indians, we don't deny that there is poverty in Pakistan. We don't deny that poor are suffering. But there is a difference between us and India and the Indians. We accept our faults, while Indians are living in LA LA land.
