An Indian court has convicted a taxi driver for the 2005 rape and murder of call-centre worker Pratibha Srikanthamurthy.
She was on her way home after a night shift in the southern city of Bangalore when Shiv Kumar attacked her.
The court will announce the punishment on Friday. Kumar had denied the charge.
There has been huge interest in the case in India, where about 700,000 people are employed in call centres, about 40% of them women.
Ms Srikanthamurthy, 24, was employed with the call centre of Hewlett-Packard in Bangalore.
Her mother has called for the death sentence for Kumar.
According to reports, Kumar told Ms Srikanthamurthy that her driver was away and that he was the replacement.
Police said he took her to a deserted place outside the city where he raped and killed her.
Following the killing, call centres announced a spate of heightened security measures for their employees.
Many firms set up helplines and started background checks on transport companies and their drivers.
Hewlett-Packard installed a helpline for employees to check transport details and phone numbers of senior managers were given out to call in an emergency.
Bangalore is the hub of the information technology industry in India and has hundreds of call centres.
It is often described as the Silicon Valley of India.
