Tax amnesty scheme has good chances of working to pakistan's betterment this time. Reason is it is timed with some new regulations arising in some western countries where overseas depositers in banks are told to decide which tax jurisdictions they will opt for and information shall be relayed to pakistan tax authorities if they opt for that . Previously though regulations similar to that existed but were not fully enforced so now Pakistanis with deposits in overseas banks have the choice to bring money to pakistan and might do so as interest rates are minimal in West . The factor which can stop that inflow is falling currency rate of ours.

It is better to ask our own people for money deposited abroad than asking IMF.

People like Imran khan who do not earn a living and have no profession cannot understand the issue and his opposition to tax amnesty shows how Naive he is . Pakistan is a country with huge influx and outflux of its people , these have two economic existences and hence assets overseas is not unexpected and this needs protection.

Bilawal too is one who is son of a extortionist Zardari , he too has not earned from honest business so he too does not know the issues involved . So he too is opposing Tax amnesty.

Tax amnesty scheme is a good scheme, it will work to a limited extent and might result in some inpouring of bank accounts .

Imran himself availed himself of Tax amnesty scheme as acknowledged in courts.

A country with 7 million pakistanis overseas will always need to have regular tax amnesties schemes and infact this should be made permanent feature.

Imran's opposition and threat to overturn this scheme will cost him overseas support of pakistanis and create opposition to him in business community .

The above replies explain our nonpractical and unrealistic attitude to economy and reason no body invests in pakistan , where people are not preared to spare the money man , be it taxing him ,jailing him ,even kidnapping him . Sadistic pleasure is single most preoccupation ,derived mostly from tight competitive societies of villages and inner cities mentality of envy and jealousy .pakistan is a country with largest diaspora and people are constantly moving in and out in millions , they have to adjust their assetts repeatedly ,people who earn foul and trnasfer abroad tend to settle abroad ,they are not the people this sceheme is for ,nor most will avail it ,so condemning it is useless .i bet who oppose it have never run serious big businesses , big business running for even the most patriotic pakistani ,esp export business requires overseas assetts and cash ,even if you stay most of the time in pakistan . No wonder this coutnry is short of logic and noahs are ineffective in improvement .
