Revolution Looming, Says Imran Khan
DALLAS: Cricketing legend-turned-politician Imran Khan has once again highlighted corruption and cronyism in politics in Pakistan and said a revolution is on its way either through the ballot or the streets.
Addressing a Dallas gathering, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said president Zardari was enjoying on the peoples money. In the hotel in London in which Zardari would stay, the rent of the room for one day is Rs 2 million, he added.
Besides, another hefty amount of Rs.6 million is being spent on the ceremony to induct his son Bilawal in Pakistan politics, Imran observed.
The PTI chief was addressing a fund-raising gathering at a local hotel organized by the Tehreek-e-Insaf local chapter in Texas capital.
Imran told the gathering of mostly Pakistani-Americans that Pakistan was undergoing a very critical situation and we all are responsible for that, because the biggest criminal was no one else but the president of Pakistan himself, who has also employed a team of crooks and criminals in the cabinet and has imposed them upon the people, he added.
Khan opined that honorable nations under such tyrannical conditions always agitate. However, under a persistent fear, people refrain from entering politics.
Politicians in Pakistan should think of the day on which the nation would start a revolution, Khan commented.
Imran Khan is due to address another fun-raising campaign in New York over the weekend.
Khan addressed the Pakistani diaspora in Atlanta GA on the 4th, in Bethlehem, PA on the 5th and is expected to do the same in Long Island City, NY on the 7th. On the 8th Khan is expected to address the Pakistani-Canadians in Toronto, Canada, according to his partys website.
