1 - Goal is to enforce change. He is positive about the direction but there is a long way to go.
2 - PTI claim is right that there is no political interference.
3 - MPA's suggested their voters complain about their issues are not being heard. IG answered that he requires 24 hours to investigate and he definitely hears his force.
4 - Random visits, IG talking directly with ppl from all political backgrounds. All political parties suggested that there is no political victimization and they have witnessed the change.
5 - Understanding that PTI has given them the due organizational freehand. It is now his responsibility to understand the genuine issues of force.
6 - To change the 'THANA CULTURE' he has the understanding of continuously improving the processes. He has quoted example of ISO certification where the certification is not for the product but the process. 3 steps taken
i - Supervising officers must be feared of check and balances and 24/7 availability. Example, public and police officers SMS IG saab since the number is public. Anchor confirmed that the SMS was acted upon.
ii - Investigation must be improved through DRC (Dispute Resolution Council) which is very successful. People who were afraid of application/investigation process are now referred to DRC where 3/4 local honourable persons are rep of the council. Who can monitor fair investigation.
iii - For all small complaints, PAL (police assistance lines) and online FIR :)
P.S. Point 6 is the most attractive for me. Atleast first time I have heard from some police officer about the process improvement, a very basic idea of management.
