ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan travels by a special plane inside Pakistan, owned by the sugar mill of his partys top leader Jehangir Tareen.

When contacted, Jehangir Tareen confirmed to The News that Imran Khan uses his companys plane for tours within Pakistan. But whenever the PTI chief uses the plane of JDW Sugar Mill for personal visits, I pay the charges from my own pocket, he said.

This fact, Tareen said, can be verified from his personal accounts and that of the companys. He said his family owned eighty percent shares of the sugar mill, and its majority shares belonged to the general public.

To a question that two of his personal servants have been made directors of the sugar mill so that any decision of his choice should be easily taken in the meetings of the board of directors, the PTI leader said that being well-educated, they qualified to hold these positions.

Tareen said that his sugar mill has paid Rs700 million income tax. My company disburses dividends to the shareholders while others conceal profit.When contacted, PTI Information Secretary Shafqat Mehmood told The News that the chairman has occasionally travelled with Tareen, the head of the policy planning of the PTI, inside Pakistan. What is objectionable about the chairman travelling with an office bearer of the party in his private transport? he asked.

I see no issue with this. It's a simple thing, when two people are going to the same destination, and one of them has access to a private plane, it is logical for the second person to accompany him (and save fuel and money).

Imran Khan is using plane of his friend/party member, there is no issue in using friend's plane.
But Can we asks the same question to Nawaz Sharif, why he used Punjab Govt Plane during his election campaign in Kashmir
And why he used Punjab Govt resources during his visit to Siachen?

In 2011 during a PML(N) campaign tour in Punjab lead by Sharif, the Punjab Government spent Rs4 million in arranging a rally for him.
Public funds where used to prove tents, 9,000 chairs, renting a stadium and people attending the rally where given free fuel at the
cost of the Punjab Government although Sharif holds no public office. The use of public funds for a party rally was considered a major scandal.

Its good , he is using his money to travel not the public. But nawaz sharif and marryam nawaz etc are using tax payer money. They are using tax payer money because they are defaulter of banks , they do not have business where they are earning money ( no tax paid means they have lossess from business), they do not have billions of worth flats in UK. They do not have sugar mills. They are begger and we as a paksitan people giving them charity.

why not travel in regular plane like Ahmedinijad and donate the rest to Shaukat Khanum ?
this excuse is so lame that Tareen pays from his pocket ..
sugar mill doesnt need aeroplane at first place .. sole purpose of purchasing that plane under sugar mill is to pay 70-80% of expenses from his own pocket and transfer rest to the shareholders ..
there is nothing new .. and nothing legal there ..
