Do you really know '4G' has failed badly in more than 90 per cent of the countries it's been adopted by?

Do you really know '3G' has proved 'much better' in 'Price' as well as 'Performance' and is in much higher demand throughout the world?

Do you really know 'the expenditure' on the installation of '4G' booster is, at present, a sure-shot financial risk as it's more likely to incur a deficit in first few years?

SO, the '4-G' Contractors/investors are much more vulnerable to the fiscal loss than the 3G adopters.

It seems you know nothing more about 4G than it's so-called higher speed which has become only a 'misnomer' in many countries till this time.

The govt must be planning to 'use the 4G lollypop to hoodwink' the people once again and thus would earn a few more 'heaps of dirty dollars'....and 'cheating' has become only 'the second nature' of NOORAs just like their 'cousins'PPP Looters.

Not a good move as they will loose money on Licensing of 3G. They should sell 3G first as it's not in Pakistan that a lot of shopping or business happens online and u need a fast service for these.
Go for 3G and than after a year or so go for 4G.

My dear brother, the 4G is going through experimentation stage which can cost a lot to those who adopt it in this stage. Canada is one of the few countries where 4G has become a success to a great extent though not financially.

Anyway, I'm quite sure those, in govt, who are dealing with 4G tender know as much about 4G as Saad Rafique and his 'intelligent leader' knew about 'Bullet Train' when they promised one during the Elections.

Technically, operators will have to implement 4g + 3.5/3G for massive pool of devices that don't have 4g hardware. PTCL already is selling the ~10Mbps nitro devices so they already have access to 3.5G channels. Can roll out 3g along side with 4g.

I have 3 mobile unlimited internet 3g. From december they will convert all 3 customers to 4g without any extra cost and of-course unlimited internet. Why should i not be happy. Other companies like O2, vodaphone, Tmoible are charging 5 extra per month.

LTE is the future of Telecommunications as it seemlessly transitions between IP based networks. LTE networks are capable of falling back to 2G for circuit switched telephony, until VOIP or (VoLTE) is deployed.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the only country to have skipped 3G and moved from 2G directly to 4G/LTE.

First of all, I'm directly involved in telecom industry in Saudi Arabia. It's a complete lie that the Kingdom has skipped 3G. Though, 3G adoption period was a bit short, due to the abrupt adoption of 4G. The Kingdom's Telecom industry is now suffering badly after the adoption of 4G-LTE without prior homework which was necessary to make it a success.

Now, I believe you only have a superficial knowledge of 4G/LTE. For your information:

1. TDD-LTE: 4G LTE is a set of two technologies, TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE, with TDD being the oldest and immature technology between the two. TDD-LTE runs on 2300 MHz band, where as FDD-LTE uses different bands (1800, 2100, 2600, 700,800) to operate.

The fact that TDD-LTE is immature and old as compared to the other, major operators around the globe are adopting FDD-LTE for better coverage and hence better speed & lesser deployment cost.
Indian telecom department has asked the operators to use the 2300 MHz band for 4G LTE meaning the network coverage will be poor and the deployment cost will go higher. Pakistan Telecom has made a plan to use the band which is by far the cheapest available band for 4G LTE ...that means the network coverage will be pethatic and the deployment cost much much higher.


2.Smartphone support: As mentioned above, the TDD-LTE is an immature technology and hence as a result there aren’t many manufacturers who provide support for TDD-LTE in their smartphones.

What drives a technology better is the availability of the equipments and support. Pakistan telecom industry chosen technology doesn’t have any support nor equipments from the world class manufacturers. This is the foremost and the most appropriate reason why 4G can’t be a success here specially when network coverage is poor.

There are many more reasons why 4G can't be a success, especially in Pakistan. However, the reasons I have shared here are more than enough for those who don't want to put their heads in sand and be an ostrich.

Does not matter in pakistan either.
They will still need to continue 3g with 4g together. As in pakistan less than .5% mobile users may own 4g sets.

3g sets are cheap. And till 4g sets don't become cheap as well there is no point of having 4g in pakistan any way.

What is 3G/ 4G technology to average desi Khanadian?

Unable to perform in online dating with opposite sex to go out for movie using online dating!
