Dual Nationality : YES or NO ?

Dual Nationality should be allowed or not ? Whats your take on it ?

Since dual national is not allow to take part in elections and he cant cast vote from outside Pakistan and he cant say anything or question any political institution so why not abolish it permanently ?

I am for abolishing it permanently, so NO to dual Nationality!

My dear dual national brothers and sisters please apply for immigration of all of your family members who are left in Pakistan and from now on we wont be quoting proudly about our FOREIGN RESERVES since most of the money comes in it are from you guyz BUT sorry this "aadha teetar aadha batair" story cant continue anymore!

I am not judging the patriotism of any dual national Pakistani but sorry guyz you are unlucky that you dont have personal relations with saudi royal family so you have to face it now! thats how things work in Pakistan!

So MQM find some new people as half of your leadership is dual national (bigsmile)!

Well dual nationality has nothing to do with your interest.Tauqeer sadiq, zardari, gillani, benazir,raisaani,shareef brothers and many more.. They are not dual nationals but they can leave the country when ever they want, no one stops them and lives much better life than the local citizens of that country.Your bank account, property and business is much more care of concern in other countries rather then dual nationality.

We have to keep dual nationality. Pakistan's intellectual capital is sitting in foreign lands and they send us money. If someone comes forward to change things in Pakistan then you will see how much dual nationals will do for pakistan. However if dual nationals are struck off as citizens, then watch how the economy will die.

Overseas Pakistanis and Dual Nationality holders are two different things... you are more patriot for your your other nationality then to Pakistan as per your oath... who is stopping you from leaving any of one nationality?

Why Tahir ul Qadri calls his Canadian Nationality a traveling document???

if they want devot their services in key posts of Pakistan and want to contest election then there should not be any problem to surrender one.....

Thanks I like your sarcasism. The foregin exchange from dual citizens is acceptable but not an opinion or question. No matter what we are going to support our fammilies and the country regardless of what cj thinks. However i would be nice to be appreciated by pakistani govt and courts for what we go through. Half of the social movements if not all are funded by the dual nationals from schools in remote areas to water wells even the only public cancer hospital Shaukat Khanam.

will your opinion or mine change anything? its the law that matters in this case. but since you asked for it then in my opinion dual citizens should not have right to hold public office in pakistan or vote in elections there. other than that they should have all the other rights that every pakistani has. btw a pakistani with dual citizenship became a provincial minister yesterday in ontario, canada.

YES to the rest as they are genuinely contributing to the economy.

May be in future when the Pak will be financially strong then can offer all dual national to give up one of the citizenship.

Apart from Islamic Concept, if we take the existing boundaries to be the truth and reality then, I think a person cannot mount on two boats at the same time. Aadha Teeter Adha Batair will not do. A person should either be totally Pakistani or a Foreign National. If a Land is said to be a Mother, then a person can only claim Mother to the woman who has given birth to him / her. Similar is the situation of a Land.

I am for it, given the practicalities of the issue. The people migrating to civilized world have a good chance to learn and practice the standard norms of fairness, logic and discipline same as locals there. But carrying the dirty bag of evils, rampant among us in Pakistani society, they simply mess up those refined environment, playing bad ambassadors of Pakistan and end up with living in isolation, failing to mix up with locals. In England, by grace of Allah, so called mumineen have sanctioned mosques with maslaki lunaticism, even. I think Dual nationals should be allowed to take part in elections and else where if they can get you the reserve to run the country then why not other things alot of our Pakistani investors is not coming to Pakistan because of bad governance terrorism and other issue we should do some thing.

on the philosophical grounds i disagree with the parallel between land and mother because as "Oryan Maqbool Jan" said once in a talk that if land doesn't provide you water and food then you just moved on in search of water and food and where ever u find water n food u built a home their BUT when it comes to mother u never can leave her even if she is not nice to u!

Our constitution doesn't allow dual national to be a member of parliament which I 100% agree.
Plus as you have seen in the past, politicians do corruption here and build there properties and businesses abroad so when they are not in power they start living abroad to escape accountability. So if you are loyal to Pakistan and want to serve this country than why having businesses and lavish properties in Chelsea, Kensington and park lane. There should be a limit to the assets , you can have abroad.

And Zardari is not dual national, his loyalty by passport and oath is to Pakistan only, but do you actually believe that he is even 1% loyal to this country?
