I am a doctor in the UK and work as a GP. I am not sure how many individuals died on the spot and how many died while being taken to hospital or in hospital but what I witnessed on TV, treatment standards were clearly not up to mark as practiced in the west. I am talking about the immediate care given by paramedics and the urgent scans needed to determine if the patient needs immediate surgery or not?
I would have thought that the hospitals in new KPK (under PTI) would have sorted their strategy to deal with such mass casualty situations with better planning. I saw lots of chaos and panic but no smooth flow of the severly injured-especially with chest & abdominal wounds. This unfortunate incident must be used to improve the above everywhere in Pakistan
