ISLAMABAD_PM_Gilani_calls_38390.jpg

Our corrupt PM shouts "Democracy is in danger" whenever PPP is asked to answer for their misdoings. They are using democracy as their shield. PPP is not a political party it is a party of thieves and cozens. This party should be banned forever to take part in the Politics. Purpose of their existence is to loot Pakistan and conspire against the nation. I am just so puzzled how so many of our so-called media personality take this bait and try to protect them?

There are corruption cases in the Courts in the tune of 150 Trillion. Not my figure but figure by SC.
How can Pakistan survive like this and why this corrupt PM is not behind bars, will someone explain to me please. In any other country he would have been asked to stand down by his own party members. But corrupt PPP parliamentarians only use the name of Democracy to save themselves and hide their true nature.
Wake up Pakistan, for heaven sake wake up.

A trillion is a trillion ... there is no pakistani or american trillion

(please refer to the table posted by @_ahmed ... it explains all)

Dude, you need some education, British and Americans systems were different but now they use American system mainly. Similarly, I think "Kharab" in Pakistan could still be 1000 billion and not 100 billion as mentioned.
For simple reasons an "Arab" in Pakistan is still 1000 million. So why would it change for the billion?

Here is the entry from Oxford Dictionary for explanation of British and American billion.

How many is a billion?

In British English, a billion used to be equivalent to a million million (i.e. 1,000,000,000,000), while in American English it has always equated to a thousand million (i.e. 1,000,000,000). British English has now adopted the American figure, though, so that a billion equals a thousand million in both varieties of English.
The same sort of change has taken place with the meaning of trillion. In British English, a trillion used to mean a million million million (i.e. 1,000,000,000,000,000,000). Nowadays, it's generally held to be equivalent to a million million (1,000,000,000,000), as it is in American English.

thanks for educating me ... I didn't know about long and short scales (i might've read it in the past but i don't remember)

however I still don't see how the other definition of trillion is relevant here (it's only used in non-english countries so US, UK, and colonial-offshoots of UK, like Pakistan, India, are out) ... plus it still doesn't make your original quote correct

Similarly, I think "Kharab" in Pakistan could still be 1000 billion and not 100 billion as mentioned.

my original post wasn't a response to hypotheticals ... it was a response to what is the fact, i.e., the de facto standard definition of a kharab ... if you come up with a reference that's a different matter ... but still the "popular" definition of kharab would be 100 arab ... pakistani budget is proposed using that definition ... and similarly in everyday usage the same definition is assumed as far as I know ...

For simple reasons an "Arab" in Pakistan is still 1000 million. So why would it change for the billion?

arab is not defined in terms of millions ... "arab" is an urdu word ... "million" is an english word

thousand, million, billion, trillion, quadrillion are defined together

hazaar, laakh, crore, arab, kharab are definied togther

it's just a mathematical coincidence that the urdu "arab" happens to be the same as the english "billion" (cz 3 pairs of zeros are same as 2 triplets of zeros)

150 trillion rupees would be almost 1.75 trillion dollars (1 USD ~ 87 PKR) ...

US defense budget (the largest defense budget in the world and larger than all the defense budgets of all other countries combined!) is less than 1.5 trillion dollars

are you trying to say pakistani politicians did corruption worth more than the annual defense budget of the United States?

now i'm starting to doubt even the 15 trillion figure ... that's almost 175 billion dollars, i.e., the GDP of Pakistan ... it's not possible that current govt. looted money worth the GDP of Pakistan even over a four year period

this story is garbage i'm sure ... the urdu story probably confused arab with kharab, or added an extra zero
