Alcohol is haram.haram cheez pait main jai chahey wo kam ho ya zyda wo gunah hai.
Agar Quran ya hadees main likha hai k alcohol us wakt tak pee saktey hain jab tak hosh hai tu la kar dekhao .
Kiya dawaion key zariye alkohl pait mai jaati hey ya nahin .pehle tum ye batao mujhe?
hmm...so the person who has cancer/TB etc should just die? As a lot if meds out there have some alcohol or even animal ingredients....
In my humble opinion, we need to differentiate between "alcoholic beverages" and the "chemical alcohol / ethyl alcohol/ ethanol". Ethyl alcohol is present in fruit and vegetables naturally.
In Quran, the word "alcohol" is not used. The stuff that is forbidden is "khamr" and reason for this is intoxication. And from Hadith, if large amount of something causes intoxication then small amount is also forbidden. So if two drinks intoxicate then taking a sip ( which will not intoxicate) is also not allowed.
The focus of Islam is on avoiding intoxication and not on ethanol molecules. I think large amount of coke/ Pepsi will not cause intoxication. What do you think?
halankay tumain is ka jawab pata ho ga likin phir bhi tum pooch rahay ho ,kion k amal tu karna nahi hai.
here is the answer :
Medicines containing non-khamr alcohol (alcohol made from other than dates and grapes) are halalas long as they are not consumed in such proportions which intoxicate. If the alcohol is made from dates or grapes which rarely is the case -, it will only be permissible to consume such medicine under the following conditions:
- No other alternative is available.
- An expert Muslim doctor prescribes the medicine and assures that the cure for that sickness lies in it.
its not about intoxication limit its a general rule for everybody. Its just like same example of road speed. I have good control in car driving, I can drive 70mph even on 30mph without accident but govt will not accept this excuse. Thats the general speed limit set by Govt after human observation. thats y it doesn't make sense that its allowed to u if u can't b intoxicated even after drinking of 10 bottles. its not about individuals its about general rule. ;)
You have missed my point. I am not talking about individual vs general. It is common knowledge that some people get intoxicated by one drink of beer/ wine etc. and others might need two, three or whatever number (physically drinkable). But eventually every one will get intoxicated. That is why even taking a sip of beer/ wine etc. is not allowed. This is not the case with Pepsi/ coke. You will need thousands of liters of Pepsi to reach alcohol level of a pint of beer. So Pepsi/ coke can never cause intoxication.
We can also compare alcohol (i.e. Ethanol) amount by volume (ABV value) in different beverages. For example:
Beer Usually 6%
Wine Usually 12%
Fruit juice Less than 0.1%
Pepsi/ coke Less than 0.001%
If ethanol molecules are the issue in Islam, than we should stop drinking Fruit juices also and test every fruit before eating it if there is any "alcohol" in it!
I emphasize again: issue in Islam is not the "chemical compound ethanol", the issue is intoxication. Imagine a situation a few hundred years ago, people are drinking fruit juice that contains "alcohol" but does not cause intoxication. Would Muslims drink that juice? Of course! But consider the case, when certain fruits have been fermented to produce intoxicating drinks. Would Muslims drink it? No, because they would know that it causes intoxication, it is "khamr". Hundred of years ago, there was no method of finding how much percentage of which molecules are present where.
We, as Muslims of present age, are quick to quote scientific findings done by others but hardly bother to analyze issues by considering the essence of Islamic injunctions in mind. And Allah knows the best.
Thanks for confusing the simple and straight thing... You successfully did it. I love the way you did it.
coke's response to that back in 2012.

Sorry to know that you can't handle critical thinking.
