CIA report: Israel will fall in 20 years

A study conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has cast doubt over Israel's survival beyond the next 20 years.

The CIA report predicts "an inexorable movement away from a two-state to a one-state solution, as the most viable model based on democratic principles of full equality that sheds the looming specter of colonial Apartheid while allowing for the return of the 1947/1948 and 1967 refugees. The latter being the precondition for sustainable peace in the region."

The study, which has been made available only to a certain number of individuals, further forecasts the return of all Palestinian refugees to the occupied territories, and the exodus of two million Israeli - who would move to the US in the next fifteen years.

"There is over 500,000 Israelis with American passports and more than 300,000 living in the area of just California," International lawyer Franklin Lamb said in an interview with Press TV on Friday, adding that those who do not have American or western passport, have already applied for them.

"So I think the handwriting at least among the public in Israel is on the wall...[which] suggests history will reject the colonial enterprise sooner or later," Lamb stressed.

He said CIA, in its report, alludes to the unexpectedly quick fall of the apartheid government in South Africa and recalls the disintegration of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, suggesting the end to the dream of an 'Israeli land' would happen 'way sooner' than later.

The study further predicts the return of over one and a half million Israelis to Russia and other parts of Europe, and denotes a decline in Israeli births whereas a rise in the Palestinian population.

Lamb said given the Israeli conduct toward the Palestinians and the Gaza strip in particular, the American public -- which has been voicing its protest against Tel Aviv's measures in the last 25 years -- may 'not take it anymore'.

Some members of the US Senate Intelligence Committee have been informed of the report.

1. I don't agree with the assessment that has been made in this report.
I believe that Israel as a country is here to stay and will exist for a very long time.

2. I think the comparison of Israel with South Africa is not valid. Israel was born in 1948, it was carved out from the erstwhile Palestine. There was a marked border between Israel and Palestine(New).

3. Right from the beginning it was decided and made clear that Israel would be a Jewish State. Arabs who stayed in Israel were given equal rights and representation in the Knesset (Israeli Parliament). Also, there are many Arabs in the Israeli Army and security forces.

4. It is only in 1967 that Israel occupied West Bank and Gaza, and lets be very clear, Israel was provoked by its Arab neighbours, and it successfully defeated the armies of 3 Arab countries.

5. Israel occupied the West Bank, Gaza, the Sinai, Golan Heights and East Jerusalem as a result of the 1967 war. Israel occupied these lands so that it could negotiate with the arab nations so that they recognise Israel and promise peaceful coexistence.[Land for Peace]. Which it did achieve with Egypt.

6. Now, there are no Israeli troops at present inside West Bank and Gaza, i accept that Israel does control movement of people between these regions(since the road goes through Israel proper) and also foreign travel. I think it also controls the water and electricity supply.
Now you will appreciate that a small country surrounded by hostile nations with huge population and armies have some genuine security concerns.
I know you all will disagree with me but i think Israel has a right to do whatever it takes to protect its people.

7. The reason why Israel will not fall are :
a) Israel is the only genuine democracy in the middle east. And thus shares values with other democracies like US, European countries, India etc.

b) It is not isolated like South Africa was. Muslim countries (not all), Venezuela and i think Ecuador are the only countries who don't have diplomatic relations with Israel.

c) Israel's expertise in countering Islamic terrorism assures it that its security and military companies will be in demand by other countries, and this will not only bring money but also support.

d) In South Africa, the anti apartheid movement was peaceful and was recognised by all and supported by the whole world. Israel is not an apartheid state, it is only trying to protect itself from groups who openly say that they want to wipe out Israel.
And as you all know there is no Nelson Mandela in the arab world.

8. Having passport of other nations isn't an issue. Maybe they want to maintain ties with the country from which they have emigrated.

I foresee a significant RISE in Isreali power and influence in the coming years to the extent that Isreal will replace US as the new super power...... but as every rise has a fall Isreal will see its fall too ... and the period of this dominance will be very short lived as compared to the US n UK before it...

Isreal will survived since one indian think it would.I congratulate you on the right assessment( fair, will have to wait) for a country which taken Billions dollars in American aid in each year, whithout which it wouldn't even table a local budget.The apartheid policy of Isreali Government is gathering storm right around the world which I think Indians are sleeping on Guns( time to wake up Indians).The justification of the illegal occupation and the expension of the occupied territories is not new that I wouldn't recognize it.Since there is no Neilson mendela in Arab world, Isreal holds the licensce of their segregation policies and their consistance controlling of the Palestinian movement within the occupied territories

This report is going back to January 2008. There is lot of water went under the bridge. The Bush administration got booted out,The Isreali election brought in more extremist to the foyer, the world sentiments towards the Isreali drastically changed.Please update your info and call back.

1. Now what makes you think that?
Core values remain, but yes values do change over time, this happens with everyone and is a natural process.
Homosexuality was criminalised in India first by the Muslim invaders, this remained the case under British rule and even after independence, now it has been decriminalised in Delhi and hopefully will be decriminalised in the whole country, the process is on.
This is only one example. It is but natural that you get influenced by other cultures, and i think there is nothing wrong in learning from people better than oneself.
