Care-Taker Federal Minister for Science and Technology visits NUST

Islamabad April 10 Federal Minister for Science and Technology Dr Sania Nishtar paid her maiden visit to National University of Sciences and Technology here on Wednesday. The federal minister was accompanied by Secretary MoST Akhlaq Ahmed Tarar. Upon her arrival, Dr Sania was warmly received by Rector NUST Engr Muhammad Asghar. The esteemed guests had a meeting with Rector before the former were given a detailed briefing on the functioning and rapid growth of NUST being the leading comprehensive university in Pakistan. The guests were also apprised of NUST future plans including establishment of a 500-bed teaching hospital and NUST Science and Technology Park.
While acknowledging the universitys performance par excellence, the federal minister lauded the efforts of NUST management, faculty and scholars towards developing it as a centre of excellence in Pakistan. In her remarks, the minister also stressed the need for promoting quality education and urged other institutes of higher education to emulate the precedent set by NUST.
After the briefing session, the dignitaries were conducted to School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Research Centre for Modeling and Simulation and Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
