Hood Bhaye's argument does not make anysense!

What is democracy? "The active participation of the people, as citizens, in politics and civic life."

so If the people of swat wants to live like that by following Shariah Law, you must give them!

On the other hand, If you are saying, they don't treat women right. Killing and bombing is not a solution. As a government, you must give them proper education and they will eventually change. You can not force someone to change their life style or what hey believe in.

Hoodboy is probably one of the most educated professors in Pakistan. Please get your facts straight and I know no one who can question his wisdom and acumen. He is right to some extent. And ofcourse he is saying these things keeping in mind analogical deals done in the past ...during Musharaf and ANP governments.... The thing is Pakistani Government should have been at a dictating terms, (rather than on the back foot). Just look what happened the next day ...they kidnapped the DCO. Is this the peace we want.??? Its as if telling those miscreants that they can do whatever they want to and whenever they want to....But the Government is forced to comply with peace. Is the government keeping a check on their activities closely...?...has there been a deal where they would transparently let the government keep a close a eye on them?.....the thing is if government is advocating no one is above the law...these people should be tried in courts...and a strong precendent should be set for the future....Its simple human psychology everytime the government budges in to their demands ....it makes them more stronger and more motivated......

Dr Pervez Hoodbhoy contribution to the country in far from any of the politcians and other leaders .

Middle class man went up to Universities like harvard and MIT on scholarship to study physics and he has many research papers on his name and above all he is been contributing immensly in promoting the education in Pakistan .

If u listen to him carefully he talk very technically and logically about the failures , speaking nothing but the truth .

He is a great guy and I am a big fan of him ..

when I first time heard dr hudbhai i was shocked and that program was kal tak ,he was guest and he was calling kashmir mujahedeens terrorist,and he was talking on the behalf of indian gov after so called mombai attack.
