I hope no cover up this time. Who so ever is involved without regard to their national or political status MUST be accountable.
Unless the dozing Judiciary backs up the NAB strongly, the ever corrupt politicians and the bureaucracy will stop NAB by passing accountability laws that will make it impossible to proceed and punish the thieves and murderers fleeing the country or sitting in the most powerful government offices. The lost Zardari files from NAB records will have to be recovered and re-opened along with asking the foreign banks to identify and release the loot safely put away in their accounts. This loot belongs to the helpless, illiterate and emaciated Pakistanis who cannot even feed themselves and see their children die every day due to malnutrition and thirst. Some other countries have successfully done it and have managed to recover the stolen money from their respective countries invoking the new international bank laws.
Iftikhar Chaudhary as the chief justice did a lot of good unorthodox things during his tenure. However we are at a loss to understand, why he knowingly allowed Hussein Haqqani to flee the country without appearing personally in the Supreme court and answer accusations of sedition and treason against the very nation that he represented in the USA as an ambassador. He has recently openly opposed the sale of F-16 to Pakistan and have lobbied against Pakistan in many forums. It is the same action that Mrs. Benazir Zardari had asked the US to take and not deliver the much needed planes to Pakistan so that she could be re-installed in power by putting some pressure on the establishment. So can we expect any justice from the current "free" judiciary at all ??? We hope that the answer is in the positive.
Much has been said about recent Islamabad school visit of the distinguished PM. We believe that it was just a photo session recorded to impress Mrs.Obama if she invites MS. Mariam Nawaz again to the white house during the much anticipated PM visit next month. These pictures will prove that Pakistan's education system has been instantly over-hauled and any funds provided have been correctly utilized. These pictures will show the neat and clean children with impeccable uniforms answering the famous question by the PM whether the Load shedding has been curbed in the country and how many continents are there on the world globe. They will however not show the half frozen children with hardly adequate and clean cloths sitting on the ground in villages and cities of Pakistan waiting for the ghost teachers to arrive and educate them into being the 21st century world class leaders.
I believe that some of the sleeping masses may be starting to come out of the lethal sleep induced upon them by pictures of the leaders carrying tasbeehs 24 hours a day even while talking to other people and Umra and hajj pictures in Ahrams.
Please God wake all of them up soon !!!
