Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Friday that ‘we’ are with families of missing persons and that they are in the process of tracing them.
In a tweet from his personal account, DG ISPR stated: “Our hearts beat with families of every missing person. We share their pain and we are with them in the process of tracing them.”
He asserted that the Pakistan army is ready to sacrifice their lives for their fellow Pakistanis and thousands of army personnel have laid down their lives for the sake of the country.
At a press conference last month Maj Ghafoor said certain elements tried to trick the people against Pakistan and its institutions. He told the people that the army was working tirelessly to resolve their problems, including the demand by PTM to recover the missing persons.
He said that the army will not rest until their problems are solved, in the hope that they will not pay attention to "rhetoric and instead will stop these anti-state forces”.
