NOWSHERA: Hollywood star Angelina Jolie Tuesday visited flood-hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to draw the world's attention towards the plight of 21 million people affected by the country's worst-ever floods.

Jolie, the 34-year-old actress and roving envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, spent time talking to long-term Afghan refugees, Pakistani communities and aid workers in Nowshera.

It was Jolie's fourth visit to Pakistan since she became a UNHCR goodwill ambassador in 2001.

"From what I understand the situation is on a scale that we have not really seen the likes of. It's on a huge scale," Jolie told reporters at a camp for the displaced.

"It is extraordinarily complex situation, it's not just the floods," said Jolie, referring to the 1.7 million Afghan refugees already living in temporary camps in the northwest.

She also distributed gifts among children and women in relief camps.

Wearing a red-lined black cloak that covered her head, Jolie said she was upset to see the people's plight and called for donations through various channels, including the United Nation's official appeal.

Last week, Jolie released a video message appealing for greater public support for Pakistan's relief efforts, and she has herself donated 100,000 dollars to the flood appeal.

Is she is not better than other Politician ??????????

What interest does she have in Pakistan... Why would she give $100,000 towards flood relied. With all the security concerns where our politicians would not travel. She comes to the aid of OUR people. We call Americans our enemy. btw: She is an American! Thanks Angelina!

Remember that Pakistanis have loath against the aggression and occupied forces (in other words only the military) only not against an ordinary American. She has nothing to do with American Military operation(s), she is UN's good will ambassador for [UNHCR]. Her gesture for visiting affectess and helping out Pakistanis with her valued contribution is admirable. Any American who has kind heart and worked for Pakistan why anyone should have loath for him/her. That's the reason she has never think against Pakistan nor she caused any harm so she has no fear.

Her visit is for a noble cause and I am odd from her body language (being very humble, honest voice) and sympathetic words elaborating the real situation, quote: "... it's extraordinarily complex situation on large scale .... /." I appreciate her contribution that her visit highlights the massiveness of the problem. GOOD WORK ... keep it up.

Angelina Jolie Visits Pakistan to Drum up Support for Aid - Wears Hijab in Press conference

WELL she has dressed modest as she is looking way better than she appeared in movies and that dress was simple dupatta it wasnt hijab i think and the dress code of pakistani women is acceptable in islam if we follow it properly like dupatta and covering full body and not showing delicate body parts and offcourse not too tight.

Without any doubt, she has a beautiful heart... she came to help our brothers and sisters, when they are suffering and despite serious security threats.... I SALUTE her.....

On the other hand, her visit is a SLAP on the faces of all our political leaders ... I wont mention any names here, coz everyone knows whom I am talking about...
