This title "graveyard of imperialism" was only coined after the defeat of the East India Company in Afghanistan which is only recent history. It is false. The area known today as Afghanistan was practically razed destroyed by Sultan Taimur and before him Ghenghis Khan. The inhabitants along with even cats & dogs were killed and whole cities vanished. If the people of this area are so tough why were they completely manhandled by these two superpowers? It became a graveyard for its own inhabitants not for these superpowers of the day. There is nothing special about Aghanistan...it is just a deserted mountanous tribal society...sort of like bigger version of our tribal areas...

but unfortunately no one was able to hold control of it for long time if you read book associated with ameer taimoor about his military adventures you will find out what he says about this area and hurdles he faced.
only muslim were able to take this area in early expansion and that was through conversion of local people to islam.
Afghanistan will not only prove to be the graveyard of western imperialism and colonialism but is the beginning of the end of Western immoral and debauch civilization.
The West wants to impose its immoral and decadent values and way of life on the Muslim world through Afghanistan but is facing a horrendous defeat there. It is not a war against terrorism in Afghanistan any more but now, it a struggle for independence, freedom, dignity and honour for every honourable Afghan.
The Americans and Europeans are going to flee from Afghanistan with their monkey tails stuck in their back sides and no where to hide in a fox hole.
