A request/recommendation to the admin/moderator

Many a times we need to address a contributor as a bro/brother/bhai or sister, sis, behan etc.

It always confuses me what social title to use since by the Id we can not tell if the addressee is a male or female. Some of the Ids are obvious, such as Shakir, Ali, etc. But names such as avatar, Spartacus, geog, Karachi etc. are subject to being mistaken as wrong gender hence upsetting the poster.

I dont remember for sure if I had to enter my gender at the time of registration. If the gender is a required field then it shouldnt be any big deal for the programmer to insert on character.

For example you could put something like: Gazoomartian (M), abcdefgh(F) etc

It would make a lot easier for folks like yours truly who frequently use relationship address such sis/bro etc

Its a recommendation but please let me know if I am out of line here or I have a valid point.

Yours truly

You can color code the name itself.
Like 'taggtow' if male then blue otherwise maroon.

Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

I want the admin to add the 'Thanks' system on threads in vbulletin.

Friendskorner has this feature. It will be a great help for both admin and the people to see who visited and said thanks to anyone who posts threads.

Gender is irrelevant.

What matters is interesting and intellectual conversations/debates regardless of the gender from which they originate.

We should use the words that we actually mean. I don't know anyone on this website personally and most probably will not meet majority of the people who visit this forum. Someone like me prefers not to generously use the words brother, sister, bhai etc.

I like to use the words I feel and mean.

Also, if we disclose the gender, there is a probability of females being abused if someone does not agree with their political views.
Probability not necessarily.

That's my 2 cents. I could be wrong.

I jolt down your ideas. Inshallah you will see them implemented on the new site.

You will see all this stuff on the new site in near future.

Members will have a choice to reveal their gender.

Come on guys, siasat.pk is a young forum, you cannot compare Friendskorner and pkpolitics with siasat.pk because FK/PkP is a much older site with way more hits a day then siasat.pk and I am sorry to say their visitors are much more tolerant and mature. Some of us like myself contribute to all these sites as well.

With the passage of time FK has become much more organized website, now you can just goto the forum of your interest and not waste your time with something you dont want to read. example. you can just read about literature without reading a word about politics. Or watch Pakistani dramas without watching political talk shows.

The members and admins are much more tolerant now so you see more Pakistani color in them then other colors.

All in all, this forum and site needs time to mature. So, I wouldn't compare with FK and I would say we are a little better crowd then pkpolitics crowd because they are more of "one kind".
