Aitzaz confirms meeting Kayani, firm on democracy

ISLAMABAD: Top lawyers movement leader and senior PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan has confirmed his meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani while declaring that he is firm on democracy.

When contacted by The News, Aitzaz said that when the Army chief spoke to him on March 16, he invited him for a cup of tea. Aitzaz said he accepted the invitation but could not meet him till 10 days ago. Aitzaz said, It was purely a private meeting.


It was, however, a pleasant meeting and Armys successes in Swat and FATA were discussed, Aitzaz said. When pressed further, he said that golf also came under discussion. Aitzaz said he was committed to the democratic system. The case in the Supreme Court was neither discussed nor has he any role to play in the proceedings or decision of the case, he added.

He said that he had a long-standing commitment to the democratic system and an independent judiciary. When asked if there were likely to be any further meetings between the two, Aitzaz said that they may play golf together in future but no politics would be discussed

Lets see, although this new lobby is trying to build a new idea of bringing something new to Pakistani Nation. Which is know as INDEPENDENT JUDICIARY. Now apart from from their own interest, they will create a system unintentionally, Which will actually bring a new leadership all of a sudden, and this leadership will come up from our class, which is middle class, from where me and you belong, and at that time this bunch of new so called lawyers or anything, will realize, what a great blunder they have commit, and that time, they won't be able to do anything to regain FEUDAL system & strategy.

This independent judiciary won't please some. But good thing is that there were no protests against the current decisions instead every where all decisions were appreciated. not very sure about some regions of Karachi and some of Hyderabad. Which means majority is happy with the current system. I pray may this system work for Pakistan and all those people who are trying to prove a hurdle in that regard ... because of their own vested interests, may they fail in their evil deeds.
People are becoming aware of their strength and they might need another election or two to decide (because you have to give chance if Farooq Sattar could win :) in 2012 ) but later on it will be us who will rule, Inshallah.
