You are wrong its not Karachi where people are richest people in Lahore are more richer then Karachi and karachiite are receiving enmity from others in Pakistan in the form of Quota System as every one knows that Karachi has modt number of highly educated and qualified people but in Quota system just 7.5% total share of jobs in Govt. and in military it is much worse as military even reject most Karachiite due to their caste and ethnicity(In armed forces few castes from Punjab and Khaibar Pakhtunkuwa are favored the most) and just to tell where things are even worse is the point where we see our law enforcement agencies as in law enforcement agencies like Police are also have mostly non Karachiite and even worse that those who cant even have ideas of Karachi and its streets and its areas due to favoritism of Govt. jobs over Karachi and just imagine a person who dont even have idea of Karachi and its street and also about its area then how can you even expect them to protect Karachiite or at least do something about target killing???Now a days even its getting worse as now Tanker mafia and other mafias have started stealing water of Karachi by constructing Water hoardings which is causing Karachi a huge water shortage so that illegal water tankers business could be able to succeed and its all happening because Karachiite dont take dictations of anyone even Military Establishment....

As I have laid out before I do not like any political party specially MQM and I am their one of the strongest opponents becuase of their policies.

But apart from that, what ever is being said in the video is truth and there is no harm in accepting the truth. Textile industry of Karachi is another victim of Nawaz Shareef's vicious motives of plundering money and may be hurting the people of sindh. Dry port is one example. I have already posted the details of how his government used dry port to hurt the textile indsutry of Sindh and Karachi in particular. I do not want to reiterate. The information that I have provided is not from news paper. My father has worked his whole life in textile sector and I have the first hand information. First the sanctions by NS ruined the industry and then the strike calls from MQM forced the mill owners to shut down their mills and move to some other province where Strike calls are not made almost every day.

Remember "duhan waheen say uthta hai jahan aag hoti hai". We can not just close our eyes and make our selves believes that "all is well". Truth is truth whether it is coming from the mouth of your fiercest enemy. The corrpution, mis management and injustice is the cause of people supporting stupid leaderships every where. this is not just MQM, Islamabad is balmed for usurping and mis using the resources by almost every other province of Pakistan, including the one that has become the Bangladesh.

The point is not to hate people. But to understand the problem and try to resolve it and share the grief that other are having. If the people of city of Karachi are having a good life it does not give any body any right to usurp the resources. Similar disparities exists in every country. In US the cities that are closer to the oceans are more prosperous than those that are not. The poor cities have poor infrastructure. Why they do not get money from the state of California and use it every where else. It is becuase, within it self every city and then every state is given some kind of autonomy. The federal government can impose taxes equally and use that revenue to help the not so fortunate cities. It does not impose restrictions and use means of business that would other wise ruin the livelihood of the properous cities.

In Pakistan we lack this leverage. Resources of the country are in tight control by the people in power. They abuse and misuse the resources. Becuase of that the owners of the resources are left behind and always remain under privileged. Whether it is one person or many or a whole province. The problem is we do not have brotherhood. We do not raise the voice for our brothers. If we see injustice, we do not stand behind our brother. As a Momin we were suppose to do that. But our culture is based on plundering money and resources and calling the others illeterate, Ghadar etc. Technically Baluchistan should be the richiest province of Pakistan. The federal government should pay the price of the resources that they use from Baluchistan. But it is the other way around. Baluchistan is the poorest of all the provinces. Similarly there should not be any electricity and infrastructure issue in Karachi as Karachi generates most of the revenue. So it is a clear indictive of mis management, corruption and injustice.

The next point that he raised in the video is about the deputation of police officers from other provinces in Karachi. This is not even a management issue, it is a moral and social issue. Islam and the life of Khulfa-e-rasheeden has also taught us that the members of justice department and police should be from the same area that they are serving. It is not the case in Pakistan. In our universities we had to face so much humiliation by rangers and police at times. If that police officer would be from my neighbour hood or would have been a part of the society he would give it a second thought before insulting any body.

I would request my brother from the province of Punjab, that the onus of starting the brotherhood is on your shoulders. Becuase you are more in population and your leaders are blamed for all the disparities, mostly. You are from the city of Iqbal and his province. You are suppose to be first in line to be his shaheen. Ignore the triffles and try to see how can you bring a change. Do not worry about what people from other provinces cry about. Look at the situation in Punjab. The greatest injustice of all times and that is totally against the moral code of Islam is the feudal system. Hari works and the land lord eats. Raise your voice against those so called politicians who are living at the cost of blood of poor farmers. Support a party that is all for land reforms. Start some work to help the poor farmers. The land should be owned by the farmers not by the earthy lords.

So to my point. Embrace the truth rather than avoiding it. Share the grief of your brother and than stand with them and behind them so that they do not feel alienated. Sorry about a lenghty reply.

If not liking Karachi is the reason this city has florished, then every five years we should pick one city in other parts of Pakistan and start discriminating against maybe then those town and cities will also have an economy like KARACHI.. READ and learn and don't spread lies, Jury. It is you people with a complex who have destroyed the peace in karachi.

A view of Karachi from city district

Karachi is the financial and commercial capital of Pakistan. In line with its status as a major port and the country's largest metropolis, it accounts for a lion's share of Pakistan's revenue. According to the Federal Board of Revenue's 2006-2007 year book, tax and customs units in Karachi were responsible for 46.75% of direct taxes, 33.65% of federal excise tax, and 23.38% of domestic sales tax.[38] Karachi accounts for 75.14% of customs duty and 79% of sales tax on imports.[38] Therefore, Karachi collects a significant 53.38% of the total collections of the Federal Board of Revenue (since renamed as the Central Board of Revenue), out of which 53.33% are customs duty and sales tax on imports.[38] (Note: Revenue collected from Karachi includes revenue from some other areas since the Large Tax Unit (LTU) Karachi and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur & Quetta cover the entire province of Sindh and Balochistan).[38] Karachi's indigenous contribution to national revenue is 25%.[21]
Karachi's contribution to Pakistan's manufacturing sector amounts to approximately 30 percent.[39] A substantial chunk of Sindh’s gross domestic product (GDP) is attributed to Karachi[40][41] (the GDP of Sindh as a percentage of Pakistan’s total GDP has traditionally hovered around 28%-30%).[40][41][42][43] Karachi’s GDP is around 20% of the total GDP of Pakistan.[21][44] A PricewaterhouseCoopers study released in 2009, which surveyed the 2008 GDP of the top cities in the world, calculated Karachi’s GDP (PPP) to be $78 billion[45] (projected to be $193 billion in 2025 at a growth rate of 5.5%).[45] It confirmed Karachi’s status as Pakistan’s largest economy, well ahead of the next two biggest cities Lahore and Faisalabad, which had a reported GDP (PPP) in 2008 of $40 billion and $14 billion, respectively.[45] Karachi's high GDP is based on its mega-industrial base, with a high dependency on the financial sector. Textiles, cement, steel, heavy machinery, chemicals, food, banking and insurance are the major segments contributing to Karachi's GDP. In February 2007, the World Bank identified Karachi as the most business-friendly city in Pakistan.[46]

The MCB Tower and downtown Karachi

Karachi is the nerve center of Pakistan's economy. The economic stagnation caused by political anarchy, ethnic strife and resultant military operation during late 1980s and 90s led to efflux of industry from Karachi. Most of Pakistan's public and private banks are headquartered on Karachi's I. I. Chundrigar Road; according to a 2001 report, nearly 60% of the cashflow of the Pakistani economy takes place on I. I. Chundrigar Road. Most major foreign multinational corporations operating in Pakistan have their headquarters in Karachi. The Karachi Stock Exchange is the largest stock exchange in Pakistan, and is considered by many economists to be one of the prime reasons for Pakistan's 8% GDP growth across 2005.[47] A recent report by Credit Suisse on Pakistan's stock market is a testimonial to its strong fundamentals, estimating Pakistan’s relative return on equities at 26.7 percent, compared to Asia’s 11 percent.[48]
Recently, Karachi has seen an expansion of information and communications technology and electronic media and has become the software outsourcing hub of Pakistan. Call centres for foreign companies have been targeted as a significant area of growth, with the government making efforts to reduce taxes by as much as 10% in order to gain foreign investments in the IT sector.[49][50] Many of Pakistan’s independent television and radio stations are based in Karachi, including world-popular Business Plus, AAJ News, Geo TV, KTN,[51] Sindh TV,[52] CNBC Pakistan, TV ONE, ARY Digital, Indus Television Network, Samaa TV and Dawn News, as well as several local stations.
Karachi has several large industrial zones such as Karachi Export Processing Zone, SITE, Korangi, Northern Bypass Industrial Zone, Bin Qasim and North Karachi, located on the fringes of the main city.[53] Its primary areas of industry are textiles, pharmaceuticals, steel, and automobiles. In addition, Karachi has a vibrant cottage industry and there is a rapidly flourishing Free Zone with an annual growth rate of nearly 6.5%. The Karachi Expo Centre hosts many regional and international exhibitions.[54] There are many development projects proposed, approved and under construction in Karachi. Among projects of note, Emaar Properties is proposing to invest $43bn (22.8bn) in Karachi to develop Bundal Island, which is a 12,000 acre (49 km) island just off the coast of Karachi.[55] The Karachi Port Trust is planning a Rs. 20 billion, 1,947 feet (593 m) high Port Tower Complex on the Clifton shoreline.[56][57] It will comprise a hotel, a shopping center, an exhibition center and a revolving restaurant with a viewing gallery offering a panoramic view of the coastline and the city.

For God Sake People. Stop Fighting with each other. We are all brothers and Pakistani first. Don't divide yourself on the basis of Provinces, Cities and Languages.

We are all Pakistani and that's all. We need to do something to improve our country situation instead of fighting each other.

MQM walo sharam karo. Kuch din guzartay hain to koi na koi propgaganda thread post kar detay ho. Is tarha rona ro kar mazloom mat bano aur khud ko karachi ka thekedar sabit karne ki koshish mat karo. Karachi ke saath koi imtiazi sulook nahi ho raha. Pooray Pakistan main yahi kuch ho raha hay. Is tarha ki fazooliat se Karachi walon ko ehsas-e-kamtari main mat mubtila karo. Tum log magar much ke aanso mat bahao. Jis din se MQM bani hay Karachi ka bera gharq kar dia hay.

Pehle tum logon ne bari koshish ki ke Punjabi, Pathan, Sindhi aur Balochon ko Karachi se bedakhal kar den. Jab mon ki khani pari to Sindh dharti ka raag alaapna shuroo kar kia aur party ka naam bhi badal lia. Chor chori se jaye, hera pheri se nahi.
