Taliban are relatively better than other options. Warlords are a much worst option. They follow no code of morality. Taliban can be convinced using some logic from religion but war lords cant be. There is a whole lot of difference between afghan and pak Taliban. Not praising afghan taliban but there is no other option in a tribal nation like Afghanistan.

Bringing bad name to religion is separate topic. However, in terms of peace and stability taliban have much better options. The first recipe for peace is a united country and a central authority. Warlords cant make it happen. They will always fight each other for territorial gains. After decades of infighting between varying mujahideen groups it were taliban that brought country under one govt. Yes I know women and minority rights were shit and so was personal freedom but these things will stay shit in Afghanistan whether taliban are there or not. Took over by taliban will bring relative peace and a drop in violence. Once war stops then a further way forward can be explored.Ahmad Bhai,
Taliban are no different than other warlords. They kill innocent people for land and money and Taliban do the same in the name of Allah. Same brutalities with different title, I consider Taliban worse because they brought sham and disgrace to Islam and Muslims in an organized manner. As an individual Muslim we're not so perfect but when a Muslim country which claims to represent Caliphate and Islamic System of Government commits heinous crimes against humanity reflects a horrible image of Islam and Muslims. This is what Taliban did and as an civilized Muslim can't indorse their lifestyle and so called Islamic Values.
Yes, in oblivious terms (to the extent of unity and peace) you're talking about was maintained but at what cost?Bringing bad name to religion is separate topic. You missed the point. Conditions of human rights will stay the same in Afghanistan whether taliban are there or not. What taliban have to offer is a reduction in violence. It also gives the world an opportunity to the world to talk to an entity for the change in policies. Currently, the rest of the world has no one to talk to in Afghanistan. Secondly taliban had a change in strategy. They appointed a shia hazara as a governor of one police and they also had made peace with other ethnicities like tajiks and uzbeks and have given them key positions. That is why taliban were able to took northern Afghanistan very quickly. In 90s they faced the most resistance by northern alliance of northern Afghanistan. Taliban have also announced that they will not let others use their land for terrorist activates. Which means they have no expansionist ideology right now. If Pakistan has to choose between Kabul regime and taliban then taliban makes a better choice given the geo politic situationYes, in oblivious terms (to the extent of unity and peace) you're talking about was maintained but at what cost?
North Korea, China in Xinjiang (Uyghurs' area), Iran and Saudi Arabia peace has achieved, law and order prevailing.
Is that sufficient and acceptable?
Brother, as true peace loving human being we should denounce any sort of valiance committed by anyone against any ethnicity or group of people on the bases of their religious affiliation. Other warlords harm Afghanis on etheric grounds and Taliban do the same in the name of their brand of Sharia, I see no difference in both.|
Yes, Taliban may have brought some peace, stability and maintenance of law and order but the whole region particularly Pakistan and rest of the world in general was shaking with the fear of their expansion of Sharia brand.
We must not forget in Taliban regime Afghanistan became sanctuary for terrorist and safe haven for radicalists from all over the world. Al-Qaeda, TTP, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Al-Ansar, Arab, Chechen, Uzbek, Filipino freedom fighters etc, you name it.
One cannot bring peace and stability by destabilizing and disrupting peace in rest of the world. Finally Taliban paid the price, not them but poor and helpless Afghanis.
