I wouldn't say that Sharif conned me into voting for him. I was fully aware of his mental ineptitude. I personally thought Benazir was a far more intelligent person hands down. But I always felt that she was addressing jiyalas all the time, and never really made an effort to appeal to neutral voters like myself. Besides Sharif struck a chord by standing up with the lawyers movement.

However, I have no doubt that he is hurtling towards disaster this time. Sadly, so is Pakistan.
