2013 عالمی سطح پر ایڈز کو کم کرنے کی کوششوں میں کامیابی ہوئی ہے۔

پاکستان میں ایڈز تیزی سے پھیل رہا ہے جس کے باعث اس کے نتیجے میں ہونےوالی اموات کی تعداد کئی گنا بڑھ چکی ہے جس کے تحت پاکستان میں سال 2000 سے 2013 تک ایچ آئی وی ایڈز سے ہونےوالی اموات میں سالانہ 11 فیصد اضافہ ہواہے۔
امریکی ادارے کی تحقیق کے مطابق عالمی سطح پر ایڈز اور ٹی بی سے ہونے والے ہلاکتوں میں کمی واقع ہوئی ہے لیکن اس کے برعکس 13 سال کے درمیان پاکستان میں ایچ آئی وی ایڈز کے نئے کیسز رپورٹ ہونے کی شرح سالانہ 15 فیصد تک جا پہنچی ہے، تحقیق میں یہ بات سامنے آئی ہے کہ پہلے ایک لاکھ افراد میں سے ایک کیس سامنے آتا تھا تاہم اب اس کی نسبت 6.7 کیسز سامنے آرہے ہیں۔
ماہرین کا کہنا ہےکہ پاکستان میں ایچ آئی وی ایڈز پر قابو پانے کے لیے اتنی کوششیں نہیں کی جارہی ہیں جبکہ اس کے بجائے ٹی بی کی روک تھام کے لیے کوششیں کی جارہی ہیں کیوں کہ پاکستان میں ہر سال ٹی بی سے ہلاک ہونے والے افراد تعداد بہت زیادہ تھی جو سال 2013 میں کم ہوکر 37،500 پر آچکی ہے۔
2013 عالمی سطح پر ایڈز کو کم کرنے کی کوششوں میں کامیابی ہوئی ہے تاہم مخصوص خطوں اور ممالک میں اس کی شرح میں کمی بیشی ہوتی رہی ہےلیکن ایک ایسے وقت میں جب دیگر ممالک میں خاطر خواہ کامیابی دیکھنے میں آ رہی ہے تو پاکستان میں اس مرض کی شرح میں اضافہ اس مرض کے خاتمے کے لیے عملی اقدامات کا متقاضی ہے۔

There are various reasons for AIDS proliferation e.g; Unprotected Sex, Blood fusion through used syringes or bad donors etc
In my opinion, In Pakistan Used Infected Syringes can be a big big cause of this AIDS growth...... Pakistani Society is still not as bad as compare to India/Africa when comes to prostitution ....

[h=2]Role of therapeutic injections[/h]A major factor that must be accounted for in the overall HIV transmission scenario is the rampant use of therapeutic injections, often with non-sterile injection equipment. There are an estimated 800 million therapeutic injections given annually in Pakistan or approximately 4.5 per capita. This is among the highest in the World. A small but significant proportion of these are reused. This has led to the prevalence of Hepatitis C infection (which is nearly exclusively transmitted via blood exposures) to become >5% nationwide, although this seems to have stabilized at a national level. Conservatively this suggests around 150,000 new HCV infections annually, leading to the conclusion that HIV can also potentially spread via this route as well. Indeed recent community based outbreaks in Punjab suggest that the process may have already started.

AIDS on the rise, tuberculosis declining in Pakistan: Report

KARACHI- Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is claiming more lives in Pakistan than ever, according to the first-of-its-kind analysis of trend data from 188 countries released yesterday.

The study reveals an 11 percent increase in mortality rates from HIV/AIDS in Pakistan. However, it also reports a decline in the death rates from tuberculosis (TB) and malaria in Pakistan since 2000, when the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were established to stop the spread of these diseases by 2015.


“Working closely with our WHO office, Pakistan has prioritized tackling tuberculosis and malaria, and I think we are seeing what happens when you invest in improving the prompt diagnosis and treatment of these deadly diseases. Now, we need to make sure that HIV/AIDS does not take more lives in Pakistan than it already has,” stated Professor Zulfiqar Bhutta, the founding director of the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health at the Aga Khan University.


Worldwide, deaths from HIV/AIDS have declined at a rate of 1.5 percent between 2000 and 2013, while tuberculosis deaths declined by 3.7 percent. However Pakistan seems to be moving in the opposite direction with regard to HIV/AIDS.

Major cause could be infected blood...syringes...razors...operation equipment.

As nobody cares abt them.....like all the other things...
