Here is my story:
I was a team lead 5 years ago in one of a call center, earning 30k or at that time, USD 300. One of my colleagues told me about freelancing, he was doing graphics designing but I didn't know anything about graphics designing. The only thing I was good at for freelancing at that time was writing.
So with his help, I started bidding on freelancing platforms, starting with $3/hour rate. Anyway, moving forward, within two years, I was earning twice what I was as team leader, so I quit my job, to invest more time. Following my footsteps, two more team leaders also quit their jobs, we started working together sharing our projects.
Moving forward five years, I have a team of 5 writers, looking to expand my team further, and earning a lot more than what I was earning as team leader, probably more than doctors and engineers of my age.
My point is, it is a real opportunity, grab it!
