First of all, government needs to look towards itself. Why didn’t government file appeal in SC against the verdict of LHC? In Shehbaz’s case, LHC again ordered to remove his name from blacklist and let him go abroad. Government didn’t allow him to travel abroad. Rather , it filed appeal in SC.

Let’s assume that both LHC and IHC are favoring Sharif family ( Maryam is on indefinite bail in Ramzan Sugar Mills case and also on indefinite bail in Al Azizia reference due to her appeal pending before IHC). What is stopping government to file an application in IHC for expedited hearing of Maryam’s appeal so that either she goes back to jail or, if acquitted, government can then file appeal in SC? My feeling is that she is being deliberately kept out of prison at the pressure of certain powerful quarters. There is a minimum-level of understanding between establishment and Sharif clan. Maryam’s roaming freely and Nawaz’s going abroad is part of that ‘understanding’.

Principally, you are right, but technically, AJK is a self governed state. Pakistan Army cannot exercise control on such matters.

A better way should be that AJK's court should take suo moto action against such culprits of treason. Their constitution allows it.

You are right, this "great escape" was a result of a backdoor NRO, which the Govt and the establishment gave to PMLN.

However, I will, with due respect, digress from the POV that the Govt shall file an appeal in SC, in NS case. The arrow has left the bow and there is nothing which can be done, except than either contacting Interpol or getting a direct treaty with UK Govt for the exchange of such absconders.

But, how Sheikh Rasheed had been handling the situation, it appears the GHQ has not given a green signal on any such action. I cannot understand what they are waiting for, now?

There again, anything outside the bounds of Pakistan is not the headache of Army. Our FO should respond. However, as being in UK and within his personal capacity, NS enjoys the freedom of movement and association, unless it is proven that they are plotting something against Pakistan.

Nothing concrete can be done now in case of Nawaz. However, lot can still be done in case of Maryam. She can be sent back to jail to serve her remaining six and a half years of imprisonment in Al Azizia case. But, government wouldn’t do this. You know, why? Because GHQ wants her roam freely. She isn’t coming into power anytime soon but she isn’t going back to jail either. This is the minimum-level understanding ( one can call it mini NRO) that Shehbaz Sharif has arranged for Nawaz and Maryam.

I respectfully disagree. Matters pertaining to India and Afghanistan tantamount to security threat for Pakistan. Please do not annex these two with the rest of the world. ISPR if not alone, must have issued a joint statement with the Foreign office regarding this meeting.
