عمل کی کتاب تھی
دعا کی کتاب بنا دیا
It was a Command for action--You turned it into a book of prayer.
سمجھنے کی کتاب تھی
پڑھنے کی کتاب بنادیا
It was a Book to
understand--You read it without understanding.
ذندوں کا دستور تھا
مردوں کا منشور بنادیا
It was a code for the living--You turned it into a manifesto of the dead.
جو علم کی کتاب تھی
اسے لاعلموں کے باتھ تھمادیا
That which was a book of knowledge--You abdicated to the ignoramus.
تشہیر کائنات کا درس دینے آئے تھی
صرف مدرسوں کا نصاب بنا دیا
It came to give knowledge of Creation--
You abandoned it to the madrasa.
مردہ قوموں کو ذندہ کرنے آئی تھی
مردوں کو بخشوانے پر لگا دیا
It came to give life to dead nations--You used it for seeking mercy for the dead.
اے مسلمانوں یہ تم نے کیا کیا؟
