This is not something new, this has been around in Pakistani culture for decades now, sometimes only a hand to heart or sometimes before or after a handshake.
And ironically Aye Wallah is a common expression here in the Gulf. Its used like sahi kaha yaar.
Example that guy has a bad attitude. Aye Wallah. Aye, Ayy or Hey is use to say right, correct, true here.
