Do not compare oranges with apples. The Bangalis were pushed to bay by us and a huge chunk of Bangalis wanted to make an independent country of their own. After the 1970 elections when we (West Pakistan) refused to accepted the mandate of East Pakistan , the bangalis made their own "gov in exile" in India. After that it was all easy for India to capitalize on the whole situation. General Niazi , General Tikka Khan and General Yahya Khan made it ridiculously easy for India. There is no such situation in India or Kashmir now, nor can we in anyway play the role India played in 71

Bhutto had a role in it , albeit a minor one. General Yahya Khan was the president and it was his duty to ensure a transfer of power as a result of the elections. He could easily put Bhutto in prison for refusing to accept the mandate of Mujeeb but Yahya did not do that as he had made a pact with Bhutto and Generals that by doing so he would stay as president
