حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا:

1- "إذا کَذَبَ العبدُ تَبَاعَدَ عنه المَلَكُ مِیلاً من نَتَنٍ ما جاء به". (ترمذی شریف۲/۱۹)

ترجمہ: جب آدمی جھوٹ بولتا ہے تو اس کلمہ کی بدبو کی وجہ سے جو اس نے بولا ہے رحمت کا فرشتہ اس سے ایک میل دور چلا جاتا ہے۔

2- ایک حدیث شریف میں آپ نے جھوٹ کو ایمان کے منافی عمل قرار دیا، حضرت صفوان بن سُلیم رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیاگیا:

" أیکون الموٴمن جَباناً ؟ قال: نعم، فقیل له: أیکون الموٴمن بخیلاً؟ قال: نعم، فقیل له: أیکون الموٴمن کذّاباً؟ قال: لا"․ (موطأ الإمام مالك ص۳۸۸)

ترجمہ:کیا موٴمن بزدل ہوسکتا ہے؟ آپ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں، (مسلمان میں یہ کم زوری ہوسکتی ہے) پھر عرض کیاگیا کہ کیامسلمان بخیل ہوسکتا ہے؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں (مسلمان میں یہ کم زوری بھی ہوسکتی ہے) پھر عرض کیاگیا: کیا مسلمان جھوٹا ہوسکتا ہے؟ آپ نے جواب عنایت فرمایا :نہیں! (یعنی ایمان کے ساتھ بے باکانہ جھوٹ کی عادت جمع نہیں ہوسکتی اور ایمان جھوٹ کو برداشت نہیں کرسکتا) واللہ اعلم
