There's no doubt about the brilliance, the sincerity and the righteousness of the early Muslims. They did excel on an individual level and conquered great swaths of territory, but clearly failed to build institutions. The institution of Khilafah could not survive even for 50 years. In the absence of institutions, people become imitators, 'personality worshipers'.

Also, Islamic historians never fail to mention the 'welfare state' of Omar, but wasn't this 'welfare' limited only to Madinah? The maal e ghaneemat that came from the conquered territories, was it distributed equally in the whole empire, or just among the citizens of Madinah?

The cleric has rightly mentioned about the source of Philosophy which is bewilderment. Philosophy which is now restricted to the utilisation of rational thinking with the tools of logic, deductive and inductive reasoning pretty much precludes the arguments of divinity to such extent that Kant has also downgraded the nature of metaphysics even in the philosophical field of inquiry in the eighteenth century of common era.

Atheism simply represent the mode of thinking which simply cant accept the articles, arguments and symbolic narrative of religion in the sole framework of logical reasoning. Any inquirer of the truth in its entirety should possess the open and receptive mind to engage in the arguments of all extant fields of knowledge be it natural or religious sciences.

Unfortunately majority of atheists of this age along with their antithetical forces in the domain of faith relies blindly on the traditions and established doctrines of their respective fields which then results in the hardening of their positions with no clear cut insight and innovative form of argumentation with the passage of time.
