Are we just like the Bani Israel?

Please do take the time out to watch the following documentary with your family and share it with your friends. Strange that we need a film to explain this, but we are living in a world where the natural has become unnatural and the unnatural natural. The food and drink that we knowingly consume on a daily basis is slowly killing us and we are leaving behind the same pattern for our offspring to follow. This lively and entertaining documentary illustrates this pattern of behavior, why it is terrible for us and what we can do to turn it around and live a healthier lifestyle, Insha’Allah.

“Eat from the good things with which We have provided you.” (The Noble Quran 7:160)

“No human ever filled a vessel worse than the stomach. Sufficient for any son of Adam are some morsels to keep his back straight. But if it must be, then one third for his food, one third for his drink and one third for his breath.” (Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasaa’I, Ibn Majah – Hadith Sahih, Hadith No. 47)

Really think about following Ayah: Are we just like the Bani Israel who rejected Allah’s bounty and do we also believe that we know what is better for us than He does? Or that we can make any better what He has already made perfect?

“And [recall] when you said, “O Moses, we can never endure one [kind of] food. So call upon your Lord to bring forth for us from the earth its green herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic and its lentils and its onions.” [Moses] said, “Would you exchange what is better for what is less?” (The Noble Quran 2:61)

If this is not convincing enough then chew on this: Are we going to be eating potato chips and drinking pop / cola in Jannah? Is this our idea of the best food? Allah (SWA) gave us the food of Jannah on earth, if we cannot eat it now, how will we enjoy it then?

“The best generation is my generation, followed by the one after them then the one after them. Then will come a people who bear witness but are not asked to bear witness, who swear oaths but do not fulfill them and fatness will appear among them.” (Muslim &Bukhari)

poor people also end up eating the unhealthiest foods and in inadequate amounts as well due to lack of money which makes them even sicker than the general population. How come we have insurance policies and government programs to pay for their pills and treatments to enrich the Big Pharma but we can't have insurance policies and more government programs designed towards feeding people healthier foods and stopping these diseases in their track? Why is health insurance only about paying big corporations when you get sick and not about preventing you from getting sick in the first place.

Your observations are spot on. There aren't enough preventative measures in place so that people will not get sick in the first place. There is a definite agenda to keeping the poor down and even the treatments that they are being given for their ailments are often mere placebos or have adverse side affects and resulting illnesses or disabilities, Subhan'Allah.

Alhamdulillah, our country is rich in nutrients and minerals, it has every season, and every kind of delicious food, yet we have taken advantage of this gift from Allah. We have fallen into the sin of making our bounty impure and dirty, we are making our country extremely sick from our heedlessness, greed, selfishness, and pollution, so it isn't able to give the same yield and purity as it could. It is sick, so we are sick.

We have taken to eating the modified food of godless corporations to the point where we can't stand the taste of fresh farmed food and think the modified stuff more appetizing and better for us, because that is what their advertising told us to believe, yet we are blind to the fat and frailty of our people and children. We don't see how our crops are being stolen from us and our people starve, when there is plenty to feed them with if we weren't so caught up in making money by any means necessary. If we are sitting at our computers or on our phones right now typing these messages, then that means we are much more privileged than the average person in our country. What are we doing with the opportunities, talents, and gifts that Allah has granted us? Honestly, leaders aside, we also have the blood of our people on our hands.

We have let our Faith down, we have let our countrymen down, we have let those who sacrificed so much to build this country down, but most of all we have let ourselves down. All the things that you have illustrated in your message are things that would never have occurred if Islam was being believed in and practiced as it should be. Islam came to create balance and guide humanity in such a way that the essence of the human and the earth is in harmony and only compliments one another, not competes with one another. Everything, from eating, drinking, the environment, and our interaction is clear in our Faith, yet we think ourselves more intelligent than Allah Himself and thus lead the way to our own destruction and a cruel chaos for the generations to come, Astaghfirullah.

I know the things I share are difficult for many to digest, they were difficult for me to digest as well, Subhan'Allah, but the more that I have studied our Faith, history, and where we are now, I realized that we need an awakening. We don't know the consequences of our own heedlessness and ignorance. I am happy to see there are people like you out there that are also asking the right questions. These questions will lead to the right answers as well. Thank you.

"What comes to you of good is from Allah, but what comes to you of evil, [O man], is from yourself. And We have sent you, [O Muhammad], to the people as a Messenger, and sufficient is Allah as Witness." (The Noble Quran 4:79)

May Allah guide us, forgive us, protect us, and make it easy for us to turn this tide, Ameen.
