nahi bhai, the temperature at tower remains around 600C-650C. They are not using photo-electric panels, instead the tower has steam generator inside which generates steam from this immense heat. At the base of tower, there is a steam turbine power plant, which generates energy about 4 times of that generated by Nandipur power plant.
The total area covered by mirrors /reflectors is 1.9 million m[SUP]2[/SUP] , and since California is approximately on the same latitude as Lahore (33 +/- 2), so they receive 500W-900W per m[SUP]2[/SUP] during the day.
