Swat is looking like Gaza

The military action in Swat by President Asif Ali Zardari with hundreds of thousands of poor people fleeing from the area gives me the impression that I am looking at the scenes of Gaza invasion when the Zionist Jewish state of Israel sent its forces into Palestine to stop Palestinians tin pot rockets.

Why President Asif Ali Zardari had to take this massive military action when negotiations could have resolved the dispute? Was this the price and pre-condition of the US aid to invade Swat? Mr Zardari is treating our own people like enemies? He is dividing our nation and damaging our country in order to receive USA aid in charity. There is no honour in getting hand outs.

Why was not there any mention in Washington by Mr Zardari of the Indian involvement in insurgency and militancy in Pakistan and her financial, arms and training support to terrorists and suicide bombers coming into Pakistan from India and Afghanistan and also employed locally?

I saw these pictures on bbc...

I dont say that actions shouldnt have been taken... but measures could have been taken to minimize the damage...

May be Zardari was in a hurry to start some action to show his master sitting in washington...

I consider it second lal Masjid.. on a larger scale..

I know that the army needs our support....

They should be supported.. and I support them... but my support is not unconditional..

it is the responsibility of the government to look after its citizens... and By God... this govt is not fulfilling its responsibilities...

Sawat and tribal areas are on fire... Baluchistan is boiling like a volcano... Karachi is a like a "Barood ka dher" which keeps claiming lives time and again...

and I dont see any sort of urgency in the GOvt..

It is not doing any concrete effort to manage the refugee crises ...

Nobody knows what measures have been taken to decrease the "loss of civilian lives" in the areas under operation...

Have you heard the live call on Bolta Pakistan... people are stranded without food supplies and medicine... and the want to leave that area.. why arent they been given a safe corridors??

It is time that we start questioning the negligence of those responsible.. and unconditional support will only make things worse....

If you dont think Zardari's dora-e-Amreeka was the cause of this achanak operation.. was a warning issued to civilians to leave the area before the jets started pounding the areas and mortars started shelling?

Zardari is behaving and talking like Ariel Sharon.

He has divided Pakistan by this military action. He has displaced hundreds of thousands of very poor Swatis and made them refugees in their own country while he is living in luxury in 5 star hotels and mansions in Washington and New York, and is not loosing a minute sleep over the plight of these poor people. it is such a shame and disgrace that he is taking this massive military action to get 'aid' from USA.

We should Support our Army. Talibans are traitors and should treat like this. This is not Lal masjid. This is war and in war definitrky there will be damage. We should pray that there shouldn't be colateral damage. [imran]
