What is a DDoS Attack?
A Distributed Denial of Service attack is a malicious attempt to bring down a website or a web server by overloading its bandwidth. Hackers can launch attacks by remotely instructing a group of infected (zombie) computers, known as botnets, to repeatedly contact a website or a server. This sudden surge in web traffic can cause a website to work slowly or shut down completely. Hackers can use malware and Trojan viruses to bring PCs into the botnet. Many people have no idea that their computer has been sabotaged in this way, though they may notice it doesnt work as well as it used to.

We have a very good firewall on our server, it can not effect our site or anything but overloads the site and that is why it was extremely slow. Our domain will be redirected through another url for next few days until they back out.

The funny thing is that Insaf.pk was also down at the same time. I can't say who is behind this because I don't know.

It's impossible to find out who was the culprit behind this. So let's just avoid the blame game.

As I said before, no one can ever breach our server. They just send so many bots that it slowed down the site. Like thousands of visitors at a time. That is all they could do. Inshallah we are working on this as well, so it never happens again.

Bro, It isn't easy, no average hacker can get into it. You shouldn't be visiting any site at all if you think internet is not safe at all? You sound so sure, then why are you questioning?

Online security is a constant struggle, you have to try and stay one step ahead of the hackers. There is never going to be a fool-proof system, so the best you can do is to limit the amount of personal information you willingly provide online.
