KARACHI: Full-of-talent Pakistani students are shining in almost every field of science and technology throughout the world. A group of similar such shining stars have achieved yet another milestone by introducing a soft touchscreen computer table, SAMAA reports.

The touchscreen table is designed by a team of IT students of a private university of Karachi. The group was led by 26-year-old Hamad who gave a demonstration of the multiuser machine.

Its a waterproof table which contains 28 touch-points which means several people can simultaneously operate it, Hamad told SAMAA while dragging images on the high-tech computer.

The computer table, which looks like an IPad, has been built for the first time in Pakistan, adding another feather in the cap of countrys brilliant university students and the IT sector.

Elsewhere in the world, the machine is being used in restaurants to order food. However, Hamad says a bit expensive screen could be in reach of a common man if produced on commercial basis. -SAMAA

These computer tables are used in UK schools (primary) level..
And would like to see its industrial production but we have to be careful about the patent issues

This is really an old idea, nothing new. Microsoft surface is one of the example.

But this effort must be appreciated. Well done boys !

Keep it up. The concept is old or new does not matter, the positive aspect is that new generation show interest towards innovation and global developments. God bless them.

criticism is the easiest thing anyone can even think off... if someone did something great with available resources must appreciate ... keep it up boys we have talent but we don't have resources. if our govt. start allotting millions of Rs. in their budget toward research n development area, results will be much better n different...
