The rich secular elite of Pakistan are happy adopting westernized immoral, vulgar and lewd way of life and feel happy about it. They think that adopting western culture is a way to progress and makes them feel happy and all that matters in life. I watch on TV these Pakistanis westernized young actresses, models and pop singers wearing tight, semi-naked western dresses and even some of the female hosts do not cover themselves from neck down and that is shameful and disgraceful. I believe that the western pop music, modeling, fashion shows and fashion parades are destroying what is little is left of Islam in Pakistan. These so called modern artists who promote westernization of our society must be stopped from polluting our Muslim country.
A majority of Pakistanis are Muslims because they are born to Muslim parents but they hardly know anything about Islam and the Quran. Islam is the most accommodating Deen and asks its followers to adopt the Middle Path so that is not a burden to practice for an individual and the Ummah, and make it easy for the non-believers to understand. The Taliban have adopted rigidity that is though permissible under certain circumstances but that is not the way of Islam. Islam allows harsh punishments against crimes and committal of sins but the purpose is to prevent crime and save Islamic society from being polluted by criminals and immoral people. But that does not mean that punishment should be applied without a judicial process and outside the parameters of the Quran and Sharia. The penal code of Islam is absolutely clear about a crime, a sin and punishment but whole purpose is prevention so that criminals and offenders are not allowed to walk free in an Islamic society. Islam is not about the length of your beard or shalwar, lashing but asks the believers to improve their inner-self and reflect it on the islamic society. " Amal sey zindgi banti ha, Janat bih aue doozak bih".
I think that the elite of Pakistan have little regard and respect left for Islam and they believe as in the West that all that matters is their physical needs, sexual pleasures by all sordid means, accumulation of wealth by every hook and crook, pusuit of materialism and commercialism. They are adopting immoral way of life and behaving like a brown skinned European or an American as a symbol of their progress and prestige. The elite has adopted all that is vulgar, immoral and lewd in the western society and rejected even by the West. These photocopiers of the West are rejecting what is good in those societies: regard and respect of human rights, free education,free housing, charity work for the needy and poor world wide, social and welfare equality so that no citizens of the state do not die of hunger, disease and left to rot on a road or dying homeless on a street. Millions of poor Pakistan die every day of hunger, disease and lack of basic necessites of life and the the rich and well off care damn for them? Islam provides dignity, respect , honour and above all equality to every citizen of its state and Ummah because in an Islamic society; there are no boundaries and divisions. Islamic society is based on absolute equality, fairness and justice to all in its domain.
Look at some of our political leaders and politicians who are corrupt, crooks, thieves, murderess, criminals and rogues but the people elect them again and again, and they are the worst example that the youth of Pakistan could follow; and that is one of the tragedies afflicting our country.
