Its not the issue of grades, but importance of roles and performance at home and abroad. In this respect DG ISI enjoys much greater influence and impact in both domains. As Pakistan is in a state of war the role of ISI is automatically widened and somehow unsupervised, as par demand. Whether we like it or not ISI's domain of affairs is extensive and non-comparable to any other institution atleast at this moment of time. Pakistan's political establishment time and again proved impotent. They are lameduck and remain unable to assert their legitimate role and blame militray and ISI for their failure. They must accept their incapacity and shortsightedness. Performance is the only way to assert their position otherwise not only militray establishment but anyother institution could replace their role and oust them from power including their role and status.
